The narrator(Lalley) has done a great job with the Bernard Sampson series. This was the seventh and the whole series has kept me gripped. Only complaint is the characterization of Tante Lisl, which grates on me. Maybe that’s just me and it doesn’t detract from my enjoyment.

Good performance ; story keeps my attention

The narrationn sounds exactly as I think the author himself woul read it to me. Having lived through this era, the story is real and well researched. All of the characters come alive and consistently so throu all of the Samson stories.

The plot is a bit redundant, but the reader still is compelled to keep on in a rush to see what will happen. I love the frequent bits of history an physical descriptions of the characters.

The characters are old friends that remain fresh and new
