Publisher's summary
When Sukie's husband shacks up with her Pilates instructor, her domestic drama becomes the talk of her small Georgia town. Friends from her married life prove fickle, and Sukie hides at home, terrified of encountering the town gossips at the grocery store. Betsy, Sukie's neighbor, invites her to join "Fat Fridays", a weekly gathering at a local café where the women order whatever they crave - no calories counted. Over sausage pizza and sage advice, Sukie gets a grip on her new life and learns to love her freedom.
Judith Keim's warm, funny novel offers moving glimpses into each of the five women's very different lives. As they struggle to deal with cruel exes, frustrating families, and forbidden love, the women offer one another the kind of friendship that is as rich and nurturing as their Friday feasts.

Story
Sure, it's romantic up amidst the snow-capped peaks of Wyoming's Grand Teton Mountains, but Hanna Alexander has only one thing on her mind: trying to save the family lodge. That is, she did - right up until she hired mountain-guide Micah Gallagher to help raise revenues. Teeming with suspicion and intrigue, this Grand Teton adventure leaves listeners struggling with the Christian principle of forgiveness in the face of emotional entanglements, fears of the heart, and the inevitable agony of love.

Story
Adams County, Alabama, is a friendly place where everyone knows each other—but not well enough, it seems. Someone among them is a serial killer who first romances, then stalks, kidnaps, and kills his victims. It's the first big case for sheriff Bernie Granger, and a chance to prove herself to her new partner, Memphis police detective Jim Norton. But this killer is uncannily smart. It's as if he knows what Bernie is thinking. And his next move is more than shocking—it's chillingly personal.

A lovely story of women helping each other.
Five unlikely women become friends and supporters of each other during some very rough times in their lives. I enjoyed the writer's development of the characters personalities, and, in some cases, their enlightenment of their lives. A good summer book. Okay, I did have one major problem, and that could be because I was listening to the word SueKee which is said "Suki". For the longest time I thought this character was Japanese; she wasn't and I couldn't let it go. They needed to introduce why she was called SueKee earlier on. Narration was delightful.

Enjoyable but a little bit tacky
I wanted something funny and light to listen to. And this book is it. The story is good but quite tacky in my opinion. Ms Joyce Bean did a great performance. I’m quite sad that the 3rd book of this series isn’t performed by her.

Friends make the difference in god times and bad
Would you listen to Fat Fridays again? Why?
Fat Fridays is gives the reader a boost recognizing that our best friends are the ones who reach out and are always there foe you Fair wither friends may come and go. I will read t again on occasion because the characters help you understand our image of who and what we are isn't always the person we w=need to be.
What did you like best about this story?
The Fat Friday's group reminded me that friends come in all ages and stages in your life. They come with llots of flaws but they are always there when the chips are down
What does Joyce Bean bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Joyce Bean does a wonderful g=job bringing depth to each character. Her timing lets you ponder and move with each one in a way that lets you think about the lives of each one with out focusing on keeping each story line in order It flows liken a good conversation
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is a story to be listened to in one sitting. It is like being with a good friend.
Any additional comments?
The story helps you remember that there are good people out there. You may just have to take a chance to really know them

Great story!
I loved this story. The empowerment of friendship was amazing. I liked that it gave me a chance to see the different sides and levels women experience when dealing with the same or similar situations. It made my drive time less stressful.

It pulled me right in
From the beginning of the book until the end it had me. Wonderful stories of each of the ladies lives, and how no matter what they stuck together and supported one another. Girls need girls in our lives and Fat Fridays hit the kind of friendship we need on the head.
Thank You, Judith Kell, keep up your love for writing and send us fans more books like this.....

Cute All Around!
I was immediately pulled in by this cover, then the narrator Joyce Bean ...calm and peaceful voice. I've never read Judith before … this is the type of read you will talk back, there are moments where will be amazed, confused, laughing your head off and for me I was like I want friends like these ladies. I think judging is a huge problem in this world … we all need 2 step back and think before we go there … trying to remember that we are all walking a totally different life and there need to be more understanding, compassion and love. it is a daily item we have to be more mindful of. Well said. I will looking more into bot the author and narrator. ( :
