About this listen

Dean Brandon has fought his inner monster since childhood. Although suppressed, even in adulthood it's still caged inside him, and the violent urges are always there like a recovering alcoholic needing just one drink. The creepy old lady warns him not to write the book he is planning. But that novel is more important to him than any of the previous ones. It's the story he needs to write to exorcise the monster once and for all.

Ignoring the old lady's foreboding threats, Dean writes Feed the Monster. Upon its completion and submittal to his editor, terrifying things begin to happen to Dean. From best-selling author to a man on the run for his life, it seems fiction has mixed with reality, and he's suddenly not sure what's real anymore.

Best Suspense novel have listened to in years.

A friend recommended this book to me and I am recommending it to you. I never thought I would be cheering for a character like Dean Brandon but I found myself unable to stop listening and I am hoping this is not the last Dean Brandon novel.

A fun and gritty supernatural story with a new twist

Author Ron Ward Jr. along with narrator Edison Mcdaniels combined to make a suspenseful story with twists and turns that kept me guessing through the whole story. The complexity of the main character, Dean Brandon, was interesting and new. His character flaw was so compelling and perverse, I was shocked to find out how much I cared for him. I won’t give too much away, but will mention only what the cover hints at. Dean is an author who wrote a story of a serial killer, doing what they do, killed several pretty young women. These women seek revenge not from the killer, but from the author who gave and took their lives.

Ron Ward has 3 storyline’s running at the same time. One storyline of Dean’s sorted past, one of the world he created inside his novel that’s playing out in Deans real world, and one where his childhood friend turned detective trying to figure out the murders of women that have no identity but all connected to Dean.

This book is engaging, suspenseful, and will have you guessing until the last page. This psychological, supernatural story was excellent and I highly recommend it. 5 out of 5 stars.
