About this listen

Fianna Kelly is the tale of a young woman coming of age in a familiar era, but under attack by a very unfamiliar foe. In these five stories, set in Victorian times with a steampunk flair, she relates her encounters with the strange creatures called G.H.B.I.s or jeebees. The stories have a subtle sense of humor mixed with a decent amount of suspense plus contain over 70 diverse characters brought to life by the incomparable Julie Hoverson.

Work in a factory and listen to audiobooks to pass the time. Not a whole lot to say about this one other than it's not a bad book!

Would you try another book from Harry Dodgson and/or Julie Hoverson?

Perhaps, but doubtful.

What was most disappointing about Harry Dodgson’s story?

The plot line never seemed to have a point or purpose. I just couldn't generate any interest in what was going on.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Julie Hoverson?

Someone with a real Irish accent.

Any additional comments?

I tried to listen to this book on two separate occasions. The first I made it through about 45 minutes before the horrible accent and unfortunate plot made me switch to something better. The second time I tried to skip ahead and around, but the bad Irish accent was still grating. The book never seemed to go anywhere or at least anywhere that I cared about. Sorry, life's to short for me to waste time on bad books. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com.
