About this listen

Resisting her only makes him want her more…

Private investigator Billy Parrish is good at three things - fighting, investigating, and sex. MMA training with the other vets in the Warrior Fight Club keeps his war-borne demons at bay - mostly, and one night stands ensure no one gets too close. But then his best friend from the Army Rangers calls in a favor.

Shayna Curtis is new to town and full of hope for the future. With a new job starting, she’s grateful when her brother arranges a place for her to stay while she apartment hunts. But she never expected her roommate to be so brooding. Or so sexy.

Billy can’t wait for Shay to leave - because the longer she’s there, the more he wants her in his bed. To stay. He can’t have her - that much he knows. But when fight club stops taking off the edge, Billy lets down his guard…and starts fighting for what’s his.

Overcoming survivor’s guilt

Shayna Curtis has just moved to Washington, D.C. for her new job as a photo journalist...it’s a great opportunity and takes her away from her family in Upstate NY. She is temporarily living with her brother’s best friend, former Army Ranger & now private investigator, Billy Parris. Both Shayna and Billy carry a huge dose of survivor’s guilt from events that has happened in the past. While the attraction is there, neither feels worthy of the other. Can these two broken ppl see beyond the ghosts of the past and find each other?

good one!

I liked the natural progression of feelings and love. Not a big fan of insta-love, and this authentic development from roomies , to friends, to lovers was refreshing. Enjoyable hero and heroine, good coverage of hard topics like PTSD and guilt. And nice supporting characters

Superb performance, good book

Andi’s performance was superb, as always. She’s simply flawless.
Laura’s books are great. I love this series and the Hard Ink series...and everything else she’s written!
Some of the dialogue in this one was a little cheesy but overall, this is a five star.
Give it a listen. You’ll be glad you did.

Great Listen

I enjoyed the chemistry these characters had and how the story progressed. There was a good amount of build up and sexual tension. really liked the back story of how they knew each other and the events that brought them closer. Great story line and writing.

The narrator gave a great performance that made this story fly by.

loved this!!

Loved that Shayna Curtis was a spitfire and was able to keep up with all the alpha males in this book, and their were plenty of them!! Her brother, Ryan, Billy Parrish and of his fight club friends were very protective of Shayna. I liked Noah and Kristina in book 1, but Shayna and Billy were too perfect for each other!!!!! The story seemed pretty fast, but had lots of good details.

I listened to the audiobook of this book, narrated by one of the best, Andi Arndt <3

Enjoyable

Good, hot romance, but nothing unpredictable, except for the uniquely humorous use of profanity. Very good narrator!

Redemption!

Fighting for What's His by Laura Kaye involves many layers of emotions. Overcoming survivors guilt and self blame is a huge part of this story. I loved how realistic Andi Arndt conveyed the turmoil the characters were facing, the humor, and the raw feelings. She was magical bringing the characters to life. I loved the imagery in this book, and how the characters opened up about their feelings and fears. Laura Kaye wrote a very realistic book that deals with some hard subjects and was wonderfully sensitive at the same time. I will definitely listen to more books by this talented author and narrator.
