About this listen

Holly Marie was forty-two years old the day she found out she was missing.

At ten months old, Holly Marie was brought to the door of a church by three barefoot women in white robes and head coverings. Adopted by the pastor and raised in a loving Christian home, Holly nevertheless struggled with the ache of not knowing what had happened to her biological parents. She still felt their absence even as she married and started a family of her own.

When two detectives showed up at the restaurant where she worked and informed her that she had a large family in Florida who had been searching for her for over 40 years, Holly’s past became the reality of her present, and she began the sometimes painful journey of discovering the truth about her origins: Her parents had been brutally murdered, their case still unsolved.

With the help of law enforcement across four states, forensic genealogists, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and her newly discovered family members, the missing pieces began to come together. Except these—why had her parents been murdered? And who had murdered them? She soon found out that the truth leads not always to answers but sometimes to more questions, that it also brings healing and restoration, and that we must surrender our unknowns to God until, in His perfect timing, all truths are revealed.

Finding Baby Holly is the inspiring true story of a wife and mother who was “missing” for over forty years after her parents’ murders, the persistent detectives who never stopped investigating, and the birth family who never lost hope in finding her.

Too preachy

Needed editing. Time line needed clarification. Was death before car returned and was baby dropped before car. Way too preachy.

Interesting story but too much preaching

Was kind of confusing at first. But after more information was provided it was clearer. The idea that god had anything to do with this is bothersome and repeating it kept making me think of other families that had to deal with murdered or missing family members. Is God is only listening to a few families? Just Your family? That got in the way of enjoying your book.

What an incredible story!

Holly’s story is 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to me because she is authentic and knowing her since age 15 she was raised in the church from the very start of her life. Giving God Glory for her life’s journey is felt all through her story. Thank you 🙏🏾 God for my answering my prayers for her life.I learned so much. Well written and listening on audible took me to a new level. I also read her book. Holly Marie your story with inspiration, courage, compassion and love for God and family has always been who you are ever since I met you. Life struggles are real and you didn’t hold back at all. Miracles do happen everyday if you stop, look around you and listen! So happy she found her bio family- and all the lives she has touched along the way. Never give up on your dreams! We all have a purpose and a story- so happy she is in my life. So thankful she shared her story. What a blessing! I learned about DNA process and Genealogy for Justice was so interesting to me. I do pray they find who murdered your parents since this is still a cold case. The forensics & detectives search and how it all came about was exciting to me!

Repeatative

Too many times we are reminded that Holly is “you”, the author. Too many times we hear the same spiritual out takes on her experiences. It was well established in the beginning of the story of her filter used to view life. I would have liked to hear the story unfold without being reminded of her spirituality over and over again.

Good but lacking

I'd been eyeing this book for a while and was excited to use an audible credit for it but was a little disappointed in the book. While the story itself of Holly and her family is quite unique, it felt incomplete and lacking. I almost wonder if the book itself was a bit too rushed to be published. After all, Holly had only known about her parents for 18 months or so before the book was released to the public.

God answers prayers in his own time

Overwhelming spiritual communication/beliefs of Holly and her family. Good people still exist. Amazing how “laxed” the Justice system is and how the Nation was so disconnected with missing person information as well as adoption applications/background research truly is.

I would have preferred male voices read the male narratives. The story by was a little repetitive. Prayers to those still missing.

Unbelievable true story

An unbelievable true story, I couldn’t stop listening. Holly’s storytelling of how God’s fingerprints were on every step of her life proves the existence of a loving God.
