He’s ready to grow. Is he ready for love?
Heath has spent most of his life protecting himself from the traumas of his childhood, but now, he’s ready to move on.
Stepping out of his shell is easy compared to dealing with the turmoil going on in his heart. He has his eye on his mentor, but Heath doesn’t know if he’s ready to take the plunge with Cade.
Ignoring the question won’t make it go away, but he’s worried that confessing his feelings could ruin everything.
He can’t believe in a happily ever after...
Cade has spent too many years alone to think that there’s love out there for him. It doesn’t matter that he sees desire in a younger man’s eyes.
Heath’s too young. He’s got his whole life ahead of him, and he can’t waste it on Cade. So, Cade puts his feelings out of mind, but it’s hard when they spend hours together in the gardens at work.
Heath’s an eager student, and soon, their mutual attraction is undeniable.
Can a wounded older man and a young guy with his own hang-ups put their issues aside for a chance at true love?

Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: yes
I've enjoyed each of the Benson Brothers stories. As with all these books, the pace is good, the characters interesting and the story enjoyable. This one had a clever take on the overall story-arc of Heath wanting the results of his DNA test to show he is a Benson, for him to finally belong to a family that would love him.
I would have liked this one to be a little longer, Cade and Heath's relationship, although they've known each other since Heath was a child, I felt the relationship progresses to being intimate really quickly and I would have liked to see it expanded further. But I was still invested in their outcome and enjoyed their story.
I enjoy Gage McKenna as a narrator, I find him easy to listen to and think he's done a great job bringing this book to life. Each Character's personality comes through, all the emotions are there and I was completely immersed in the audio experience.
great wind-up to the series

Heath, who lived a traumatic life as a youth, finds himself falling for his much older friend, Cade, but doesn’t think he deserves someone so wonderful. Cade feels guilty that he couldn’t prevent the trauma that Heath went through. Together, the two have doubts that are keeping them apart. Cade, his guilt and age, and Heath, his trauma. Finding out that he is one of the Selwyn progenies, he finds that he has a family that will love him.
The narration didn’t seem to be as good as it was in the other books.
