About this listen

And after darkness, comes first light.

In the thrilling conclusion to the Enter Darkness series, Brad must race to save the lives of those closest to him, as well as find and reconcile the previous events with his father. It’s impossible to know who to trust, and as technology gives way to nature, and human advancement gives way to natural instinct, will only the strong survive?

It’s a new dawn, and a new tomorrow. Can Brad save those he loves most? Can he even save himself?

This is the fifth book in the Enter Darkness series.

Well written final book!

This is the fifth book in the series. It is almost my favorite of the series. I have been waiting and waiting for some happiness and luck for poor Brad. He has really had it tough for the last five or six months. I thought finding his father, Lee, was going to be a blessing but he also changed with the times. I was shocked and surprised at what happened in here...well actually through the whole 5 books.

I loved this series. Make sure you read them all to get the full effect of the devastation and loss of humanity. The author did a good job keeping me interesting in the storyline. Loving and crazy characters were written well. I enjoyed listening to this series

Andrew B Wehrlen did a wonderful job on this series.

Good conclusion to the series

I really liked the ending, it tied everything together nicely and left with a high note. Narration sometimes feels like it is going 1.25x speed sometimes, but eventually you get used to it again, overall good experience!

Left you disappointed....

As always, I have to state that this book was given to me for free in exchange for a review.
I always like to state that this does not impact my review or my opinion of the book. My reviews are honest and my own opinion of the story, performance, and overall thoughts on the book.

All in all, though, the author does create a decent protagonist and a few believable supporting characters, although their sudden mood swings are a bit dramatic, and the damsel in distress theme is really done to death, here, although he mercifully didn't toss in a steaming heap of gratuitous sex. I might eventually go on to volume five (If he wrote the whole thing as a single novel, I would have read it straight through, to be honest, simply to see what happened), but I'm going to get off the train for now.

Final Chapter

I did enjoy this series but a little disappointed with this ending. It continued with Brad’s, Lee (his insane father) and Anna adventure to survive the EMP and find safe place (maybe because it ended). As usual great narration. Fantastic Final Book

I really loved this series and it finishes off so well! I don't want to give anything away so I'm keeping this short. Again, this book picks up right where book four left off and the pace keeps moving quickly until the end. The reality of what life could look like if our world was suddenly thrown back into life without any form of electronics is harsh and the author portrays it so well. All of the characters in this series are brought to life and you find yourself wrapped up in the story needing to know how it all turns out for them. The narration is great and definitely is a lot of fun to listen to. On a morality note, I would rank this one as a PG13 due to language and violence, although the language is much cleaner in this one than in a couple of the previous books. I would highly recommend the series to those YA and adults who like action, adventure, and survival stories.

Enjoyed the whole series

First Light, Enter Darkness, Book 5, By: K. M. Fawkes is a post apocalypse story.

A short story about struggle of survival in an apocalypse. It has good characters and a good story line.

The story doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, it rounds it up.

I can’t only remember any corse Language. There are no sex scenes. Although there is some violence it doesn’t go into a lot of details.

Narrator Andrew B. Wehrlen does a wonderful job, giving each character their own individual voices. I enjoyed his reading.

First light...final chapter.

First Light is the final book in the Enter Darkness saga, and sadly it ends with more of a whimper than a bang. After the way the last book ended I was expecting things to really hit the ground running in this one, but the pacing just felt way off in this one. So many odds things got brought up that just seemed to come out of left field. The revelations on Anna's past kind of seem like something we should have learned long ago, would have helped to understand her odd behavior. I don't want to get into any kind of story spoilers but I will say Brad's dad's action/motivations just didn't make any sense to me. Also the community Brad runs into just didn't feel believable. So while I definitely enjoyed the series, this last book just missed the mark a bit for me.

As always, I thought Andrew Wehrlen's narration was great.
