About this listen

Station Eleven meets The Last of Us in this post-apocalyptic sci-fi epic from USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Ann Christy.

Coco Wells hasn’t seen another living person since she was a teenager. All of Manhattan is reliving the same few seconds, minutes, or hours on a loop…and they have been for years. Everything looks normal from a distance, but up close, it’s a nightmare.

Coco is a survivor. She scavenges for food, reads, and—most importantly—avoids loopers. They ignore her, but only as long as she’s silent. She’s learned the painful lesson that a broken loop can mean death.

After eight years of solitude, learning to survive and precisely timing the loops that weave around the city, Coco wonders what lies beyond New York and what has become of the rest of the world.

As she leaves home for the first time, one question haunts her above all:

“Am I the only one left?”

Speculative sci-fi, dystopian apocalypse, and scientific mystery coalesce into The Never-Ending End of the World—a gripping tale of survival, hope, and love from retired Naval Officer Ann Christy.

what an amazing story. I wasn't sure I would like this but boy was I wrong! I couldn't stop listening, it gripped me from the start and the narrators are in the top 5 in my opinion, they really brought the story to life. I wish there was more and I was sad when it ended. if you're unsure about this one, I'm telling you, get it! I'll be patiently waiting for another amazing read from this author. well done!

It’s the end of the world as they knew it but survival is strong in them.

When I am having a difficult time finding an audible book that sounds interesting, I often go through my favorite narrator's pages to see if there is one I missed. That's how I came across "The Never-Ending of the World" narrated by Thérèse Plummer, one of my favorites!

This story captured my interest right away with a unique plot, including Loops and Loopers, that kept you wondering how it would all turn out in the end. Talented narrators Thérèse Plummer and Ari Fliakos created unique three-dimensional characters you came to like and care about as you watched them struggle to survive, understand their new reality, and work toward a resolution to restore the world . . . I loved Coco, Forrest, and Jorge!

The ending was a bit of a surprise but was a perfect conclusion to the story.

Narration can make or break an audible book. Thank you to the author for choosing two of the very best. Thérèse Plummer and Ari Fliakos were simply fantastic!!!

I decided to listen to this book because Therese Plummer is one of my favorite narrators and I love a good post-apoc story. This one is worth the time and the credit. The story starts out a little confusing as you learn about what happened and what is happening to these people, but given a little time, it becomes pretty clear. If you are looking for something out of the norm for post-apoc stories, try this one out.

Interesting Story and Great Narration

Heartfelt. Heartbreaking. Imaginative. Thrilling. Terrifying. Healing. This book left me giving my family extra hugs by the end. Too few novels I read/listen to ever manage that. I can think of no higher compliment to give an author than this and one more thing. Ann, you achieved something I did not think I would live to see. You somehow channeled the spirits of two of my favorite authors, both immensely talented Nebula and Hugo award winners.

Anne McCaffrey always enraptured me with her “new frontier” themes, following families across generations. Though they faced cosmic-scale adversity, they never lost hope for a brighter future. And, of course, Greg Bear’s imaginative tales dealt with space-time catastrophes that always kept me turning the pages, praying that someone, anyone, would survive till the end.

Somehow, Ann, you’ve woven what I consider a perfect tribute to their memories. For audible listeners, I couldn’t recommend the narration more. Please, whomever may be reading this review, if you’re hesitant about getting this book, know it is a story that will stick with you. That’s because it is about what matters most to us: the people we love and the fear we have of losing them. I won’t spoil the ending, except to say it was well-executed and well-earned.

If Anne McCaffrey and Greg Bear wrote a novel

I personally adore dystopian novels, this genre is not new to me but this book was an instant top of my list favorite that I will have to reread for years to come. I love Coco’s story, I loved with her, smiled with her and I wept with her. The narrator was so expressive in the most appropriate parts that I Felt the story.

It is not often you find a book that brings you to tears and destroys you in the best way, but this one did just that. My tissue pile is out of control.

My curiosity was sated finally at the end but man, what a journey to get there! Beautiful story, beautiful characters and beautiful ending.

Mind blowing, creative, heart wrenching
