Publisher's summary

He's a famous poet…he just doesn't know it.

He has given up on love.

Fitzwilliam Darcy was burned once. Never again. Hiding his emotions, Darcy takes pride in his marble-like façade…until he meets a lady who threatens to expose his true character, Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

She loves a poet she has never met.

Elizabeth Bennet longs to meet the man whose poems touch her soul—the elusive Mr. Walter Wyndham. He is her ideal; her dream…and everything emotionless Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy could never be.

When an unlikely friend decides to play matchmaker, they'll either remain enemies…or fall in love.

Stuck in each other’s company, Darcy’s carefully constructed barriers come crashing down when he discovers the secret identity of Elizabeth’s beloved poet. It’s him!

Will Darcy measure up to the man she’s been dreaming of for years? Will Elizabeth stubbornly pursue an illusion, or will she fall for an imperfect (and very real) man?

Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet is a sweet and clean romance variation of Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice.

He’s the Poet and she doesn’t know it.

I’ve been reading lots of P & P variations. This by far is my favorite. I laughed and cried. I love the twists, and the narration flows nicely.

The poet and the Plagurer

The story showed Darcy ,and Wickham ,had a
mutual relationship ,Darcies poems are stolen
and published under another name .
The poet ,Elizabeth ,has great admiration ,The
thing I thought was poetic justice ,for wickham
asks all the ladies he corresponds with.
Well ,Wickham gets what he deserves,.A lady
,who on outside appearances, is not pretty, forces Wickham to marry her ,and act as they are,,

Charming!

Light and lovely! While not the best P&P variation I’ve read, it is well worth the read or listen. It has just the right amount of angst and humor and stays true to our favorite characters. So many variations exaggerate the best or worst characteristics of Jane Austen’s originals. That can make for annoying, dramatic or fun reading, depending. This story is more of a “feel good” read with a little bit of a “You’ve Got Mail” vibe. 😉 Stay tuned for a HEA and villains getting their just rewards.
As always, Stevie Zimmerman does a wonderful job. Her Elizabeth is lovely. Her Darcy is soulful and manly. Her Mrs. Bennet and Ms. Bingley are appropriately shrill and grating on “my poor nerves.”
Overall, a charming read!

Creative JAFF variation

What a fun and creative addition to the JAFF canon. ODC endured just enough pride, misunderstanding, and tension to keep the story true to JA's characterization. Wickham's character had an interesting twist (I almost started to believe he was reformed), and I didn't miss Lady Catherine at all. Well done.

Good story

Similar story line to "I've Got Mail". Quite enjoyable book - fairly low angst. This has a different twist involving Wickham. Ending is a little out of character for Darcy but it is a good ending. Jennifer Joy is an excellent story teller, and Stevie Zimmerman is an excellent narrator.

Great variation!

As with most of Jennifer Joy's variations, I have really enjoyed this telling. There is good humor, good building of romance, and a happy ending. What more could we want!?!

5star Romantic Comedy

For who is familiar with "The shop around the corner" or the later "You've got mail" or the musical "She loves me" - this js the Pride and Prejudice version of it.
I loved that we got to see a lot of Darcy and Elizabeth interacting and bantering and gaining regard and respect for each other.
Very low angst and very funny. Couldn't recommend it more.
I was a little bit off-put by Elizabeth fan-girling over her favorite poet, but I guess it couldn't be helped to help with the premise.
Also, maybe the spoiler should not be in the title of the book: Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet.

Darcy is a poet

Darcy begins by writing his thoughts and feelings in a journal little did he know someone would publish his private thoughts.
Elizabeth Bennet has a favorite poet and everyone in her family is aware of her passion for the poems.
Bring them together with a mystery snd you have an entertaining story. The narrator brings the story to life. A very enjoyable listen.
