Publisher's summary

Which will Mr. Darcy choose: his own freedom or her honor?

Fitzwilliam Darcy has avoided the entrapments of desperate maidens seeking a wealthy husband…until the Netherfield Ball. There's just one problem: The lady does not want him.

Elizabeth Bennet seeks a brief respite from the crowded halls only to find herself wrapped in the arms of the one man she despises—Mr. Darcy.

When Darcy's nemesis is shot to death during the ball, Elizabeth determines to help Darcy discover the truth before he's accused of a crime she knows he could not have committed. With a feisty partner to protect and his name to clear, can Darcy save Elizabeth when she becomes the murderer's next target?

The Honorable Mr. Darcy is a fast-paced mystery interwoven with a sweet and wholesome Regency romance inspired by Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. It is the first novel in the A Meryton Mystery series.

Oh my

Love mysteries and pride and prejudice, both in one audiobook. The best. Love it!

Surprise ending on three counts

Good little mystery. Darcy is accused of murdering his worst enemy (those of you familiar with P&P know who he is). Elizabeth could clear him, but she doesn't. The inn keeper, who also serves as constable of Meryton, is downright hostile toward Darcy, but Darcy does not know why. Darcy's only alternative for exoneration, other than Elizabeth's information, is to try to find the killer on his own.
My main complaint is that Elizabeth would let Darcy hang rather than give the information that would clear Darcy She will not do so on the grounds that she would be "ruined" if she told the truth. I thought Elizabeth would be a better person. My bad.
Three big surprises come at the end, including the identity of the killer. I will not spoil the book by disclosing the surprises.
