About this listen

Jaxon Pace should be celebrating.

After all, he's the Don Supreme of most powerful and feared mafia in the city of Chicago, and he has just married the love of his life, Natalie Tyler.

But the truth is Jaxon has been shaken to his core.

Rescued seconds before a Don Council coup, he has just learned that the man he trusted most in the world has been lying to him his entire life. He trusts no one, and his concerns for the safety of his new wife and daughter grow by the hour.

Especially when he learns that Michael Valentine, the presumed-dead and psychopathic head of the Two Headed Dragon, is very much alive and is out for blood. His blood.

What's more, a rogue FBI agent now stalks Jaxon's every move, insisting that there is far more is going on within the crime syndicate than Jaxon is aware of.

Jaxon will not rest until these threats are eliminated. But the question is, can he keep control of his city while managing to stay two steps ahead of the monsters now gunning for his family? Or will he lose everything?

Great storyline and character development. Loved how they normalize BDSM for married couples

Great storyline and character development. Loved how they normalize BDSM for married couples. Could've had a more between Jaxon and Ethan

Writing with cliffhangers is cheating

I hate cliffhangers. We paid for a full story and we should get one. Natalie’s character is a bit too weak and whiny.

All the things

This series has me in an absolute chokehold. It just keeps getting better. I have been sad, laughed out loud, shocked and mad. I love books that can make me feel all the things. Nicole Fanning has done just that.

Wow-za!

So, Flash Point is book #3 in the Heart of the Inferno series. After listening to the prologue, I went back to grab books #1 and #2 to listen to first because it was THAT GOOD! After 2 days of hard-coring binge-ing, I was ready to dive into this one. *Do you HAVE to listen to the first two books first? Not really. There's enough backstory to move you along, but not enough to be repetitious. This book picks up where Ignite ended. Jaxon and Natalie are trying to work through all the surprises that were revealed, keep their marriage and family safe, keep each other safe, and bring an end to the Two-Headed Dragon reign of terror on Chicago. No spoilers, but Chapter 5...well, be prepared and maybe be alone or hey, maybe not...it's that good. This book kept up the suspense, intrigue, witty banter, and all that smeggsy spicy goodness with a smidge of BDSM like a cherry on top! Natalie is really taking to the mafia Regina Vestra role and we are loving it! Jaxon is one of my favorite alpha-y characters of all time. He's funny, ruthless, owns up to his f@ckery, and loves deeply. This story leaves us with another shocking cliffhanger. Book #4 - Embers (the last in the series) can't come soon enough!

The narration of this book was probably the best I've ever heard...and I've heard a LOT of audiobook narration. Maxine Mitchell isn't called Queen Maxine for funsies. She literally has a male narration voice that is BETTER than a male narrator. She brings all the emotion and passion of the character to life. Grayson, Grayson, Grayson...aren't you something. Grayson Owens is a new narrator for me (I've already picked up a couple of other audiobooks by him) and is now on my watch list. He has that smooth tone that could sell you hand-warmers in Hades. These two voice SO MANY characters and do it with effortless precision! LOVED LOVED LOVED this narration!
