About this listen

Two people. One fake relationship. What could go wrong?

When virgin Shannon Travers gets fed up with her friends demanding that she find a boyfriend, she enlists the help of tattooed, mohawk-rocking graphic design student Jett. He's more than happy to play along with their Fake Relationship, including the Ten Rules of Fake Dating that control-freak Shannon comes up with. Even if he likes to violate them. Repeatedly.

But what happens when Fake Dating starts to feel… not fake anymore? Will Shannon be willing to let go and embrace the first thing in her life that's ever felt real?

The narrator ruined it.

The narrator was so hard to listen to. I struggled to focus on the story because of her voices. It's a shame.

Heart warming, hilarious rom com

I loved this entertaining, heart warming story. I didn't want it to end! Shannon is sick of her friends thinking she needs to get more experience with boys and get a boyfriend. She meets Jett and they form a friendship. Turns out he is sick of his friends bothering him about not having a girlfriend. They decide to tell everyone they are dating when really they aren't officially. They come up with their own rules to make it believable. It was so much going along on this scheme with them. It is obvious to the reader that these two are meant for each other. They know it too but afraid to voice it. Then comes the time when they agree to break up. That's when real feelings get in the way. Jett and Shannon are one of my favorite couples (even fake). They had me cracking up and swooning. I would love more from them. I didn't want this book to end. This narrator did a great job with both voices. I really forgot that it was one woman voicing for all characters. This is a must read/listen for anyone who loves a good story to make you go "awe."

Lovely!

Shannon is a very serious college student who hasn't had a date because she's picky about the men she meets. Her friends are set on having her lose her virginity and they are the worst type of "friends." The old with friends like these.... Jett is a graphic arts student and he, too, is a virgin. He's got a home life that was damaging to his heart and his psyche. He and Shannon have a lot in common and they've succeeded in becoming friends. When Hazel decides that Shannon is going to lose her V-card, it appears she's going to need Jett's help. but how? They make up a set of rules for fake girlfriend and boyfriend behavior and I have to admit some of them were clever and cute. As their fake relationship begins to grow, you can feel their inexperience getting in the way, but what a relief to find out that they were both in the same situation. The narration is wonderfully done by Kay Webster. Her dynamic voice and clear pacing bring each of the characters to life.
