About this listen

When someone is grieving over the loss of a loved one, it is often hard to know how to be there for them, even though we want to. With the poetry and verse she wrote during her own journey through the grief of losing her son, Terri Ann Leidich has created something that can speak for us. Designed to be a gift to someone in grief, this audiobook puts words to emotions, gives feelings to the confusion, and lends hope at a time that can feel hopeless. Whether it is a gift to yourself or a gift to someone you care about who is suffering the pain of loss, this audiobook will offer understanding, hope, support, and love.

Cathartic

I found myself moved by and empathetic to the experience of this author, a mother who's prematurely lost a son. As you listen to her poems, you hear and feel the author's pain and anguish. A poem about a kid with a baseball cap tells you the circumstances behind her son's death. Some of the poems are more painful than others; some feel hopeless. But they are all heartfelt, and therefore, ring with authenticity.

The narrator does a good job capturing the mood of the author with a voice that communicates a wide range of uncomfortable emotions.
