Publisher's summary

Geoffrey Frey Hartley - soldier, helicopter pilot, boxer, martial arts expert - is the biggest, baddest Gargoyle shapeshifter in the Stone Society. After too much death and destruction, he hung up his dog tags. Now he is the owner of Lion Hart Dojo and Gym. For almost 600 years, Frey has spent his life protecting humans while secretly praying for a family. Some of his clan are finding their mates, but the fates aren’t making it easy on any of them.

Abbi Quinn - teacher, wife, sister - is an abused, broken down young woman. After her parents’ death when she was 17, Abbi hung up her dreams along with her ballet shoes. Married to an abusive, controlling man, Abbi can’t remember what love feels like. When a stranger offers her a way out of her horrid situation, Abbi is torn. She tried leaving once before, and the result almost cost her life.

When Frey finds his mate in the beautiful yet subdued Abbi, the pull between them is undeniable. He vows to find the smile hidden beneath her pain, to give her back her dreams, to see her dance. He will do whatever it takes to rescue her from the hands of her husband, even if it means protecting her from the sidelines.

One Of My Top Three Of This Series

Everyone should have a knight in shining armour like Frey . One thing I love about this series is that all of the characters are so different from each other . Though Frey is a alpha male he also seems more like a teddy bear on the inside . Though I love strong heroines like Tessa and Maya , Abby is a welcome change . Even though she is a damsel in distress , she is probably the most courageous female just because she took the first step to stop the abuse . Abby and Frey compliment each other well . The build up to Sophia and Trevor 's stories is absolutely consuming !

All hearts

This story grabbed me from the very beginning and kept my attention to the very end. Frey is the ultimate book boyfriend and the way he defends Abby and her brother will melt your heart

One of my favorites!

This is one of those books that I have read and re-read. The Stone Society series is a favorite of mine, but this story is exquisite. Biggest, fiercest gargoyle Frey has the most tender heart - taking on the love of a full family in need with genuine devotion. Abby has lived through years of domestic violence and rape. Her parents died early leaving her to raise her little brother through it all and yet she isn’t bitter, she just looks out for her brother. The storyline is fluid, exciting, full of twists and turns. The story is as much about Matthew, Abby’s brother, as it is about Frey and Abby. Warning: there is vulgarity and explicit brutality written in the pages, yet this juxtaposed to the intense loyal love makes this story richer and deeper. Trevor and Jasper’s continuing story is woven through the pages also, leading to the excellent story “Jasper” that is to come.

I LOVE FREY

Like where is my Frey in life smh. This book was a honest test of patience but well worth it. I wanna be a member of the stone society aka family. This book is worth the read and the narration was good. Looking forward to reading more.

Great American Fantasy!

I can’t wait for Jaspers stories. It’s all so good . A lot of friends and good times with a little angst thrown in. Thanks for the fantasy.

I have questions.

The use of near future as a setting really confused me. There was no advanced tech to support it, the gargoyles had not been revealed to the world (which I’d think would be justification) and there was no explanation about why all the states are now New (insert name).
Other than that, while Mace Finn’s narration wasn’t so abysmal that I couldn’t get through it, his female voices need lots of work and his attempts at accents, in this case native Hawaiian, were terrible.

Love Frey & Abbi

Frey is probably one of my favorite books in the Stone Society. Listening to Mace Earl Finn ... mind blown 🤯

Since book 1 Frey has appealed to me. The gentle giant, with a heart ready to love. Abby’s story is heartbreaking. This is a story about abuse, second chances and true love.

loving story

I loved the storyline as always in this series. I loved Frey the strong lead with the soft heart. The female lead was wimpy but other than that a great book.

She Needs a Hero

Abbi's life changes in one night, her dream of dancing and so much more. I found Abbi to be such a strong character to live with such abuse, but doing all she can for her brother, dealing with what she had, until Frey barged into her life and shows her there is so much more to living. Frey has seen more horrors then one can handle in a lifetime and his purpose is now protecting his mate that he cant have while she is married. Strong mental and physical abuse in this story and how they rise above their fears and become stronger together. Just loved it.
