Publisher's summary

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author, C. L. Stone, listen to Friends vs. Family, the third book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.

Sang Sorenson is forced to suffer through another of her mother's extreme punishments. It almost kills her.

The Academy boys vow it will be the last. They're determined to keep Sang safe, especially from her own family. Their solution: complete invasion of her life. Kota, Luke, Silas, Nathan, Victor, Gabriel and North do everything within their power to show Sang what true loyalty means. It takes more than blood to make a family and they want Sang in theirs.

In this third book of The Academy series Sang experiences a taste of freedom and what it's like to truly be cared for...to be wanted. Sang learns a bit more about the boys' broken families and the boys discover more than they could ever have bargained for about Sang's. The Academy was the answer to their problems. Could it be hers?

Sang's actions will force her mother to reveal a startling truth. A truth that will change Sang's life and the boys' lives in unpredictable ways. Forever.

The Academy, allegiance.

Fantastic!

I have finally adjusted to the new narrator and actually enjoy her performance. I love this series and am excited for all the books to have audio editions!

Awful Narrator

Please bring back Holly Brewer and Chris Ensweiler. This new narrator is horrible. All of her sentences sound desperate and she butchers the voices for the boys. Please bring back the original narrators. I love this series, but can't continue to listen to this new girl.

Wonderfully intense and entertaining

The books in this series keep getting better. Love the relationships that Sang is forming with the guys and how affectionate and protective they all are of her. Love all the guys!! Makes you wish you had friends like them growing up!

My Negative Opinion But I Still Like The Series.

Good book to listen to. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the female protagonist. Third book in series and she is still the same naive girl who makes the dumbest excuses for how she is treated by her selfish and cruel family. She is tired of how her father has ignored her and decides to finally argue with him. Yet, she lets her fake mom punish her and her sister treat her horribly and she just accepts it. Here is a group of boys who are helping her with everything and trying to push her to be a little bit more confident and speak up for herself yet that doesnt happen. She is an frustrating character. There are moments where she did seem to be growing a backbone but that gets shutdown quickly. She is always questioning herself, doubting herself, and putting herself down. I really hope that she grows into a stronger character and has a voice because right now she is still the same from book one.
And....Where is the Academy????!!! Who is the Academy??!! Why is the Academy??!! When will we learn???!! Hopefully the next book.

The performance makes this come to life

True voice acting makes the Academy Ghostbird series live. This is like listening to a movie rather than reading a book. The delineated voices makes it easier to comprehend each character. I found that I misread or misappropriated quotes to different characters especially in the beginning. But the audio makes this problem non existent. I quickly bought everyone to accompany the full series I already own in it's original format.

Split recording

The file is split in 2 for easy downloading. Not sure if everyone will have this problem, but it played the second half first. :/ the story was good. Consistent with the previous. Very detailed account and characters well developed.

love this series

I love the reverse harem that this series has going on! and the narrator does a good job at trying to keep up with all the different ascents.
