About this listen

Captivating and action-packed, From Blood and Ash is a sexy, addictive, and unexpected fantasy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Laura Thalassa.

A Maiden...

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty...

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom...

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Performed by Katie Boothe, Stewart Crank, Khaya Fraites, Wyn Delano, Eric Messner, Dawn Ursula, Matthew Bassett, Robb Moreira, Torian Brackett, Julie-Ann Elliott, Michael John Casey, Earl Fisher, Christopher Walker, Holly Adams, Christopher Graybill, Joe Mallon, Debi Tinsley, Karenna Foley, Renee Dorian, Jenna Sharpe, Rayner Gabriel, James Konicek, Rob McFadyen, Yasmin Tuazon and Drew Kopas.

Great

This is one of my favorite books ever so I was a little worried about this Version and I just love the original narrator so much. Happily all the worrying was unnecessary. All of the Voice actors did a great job bringing the characters to life and I really enjoyed them. Can’t wait for the second half

Engaging story, enjoyable voice actors

I enjoy the story and the voice actors are engaging, my only issue with this is in the recording. At certain points they sound like they are in a bathroom or hall as it echos and it throws me off.

Finally! A near perfect book!

Whole heartedly recommend this book. Especially if you are looking to fill a void from series like Throne of Glass/ACOTAR. I absolutely love these characters and the world building. I was hooked right away and the story is very compelling. Did I guess the twist ? Yes. Did it matter? No. There were more! Plus the voice acting is 10/10. I hate having to wait for more full cast of the next books.

Mysterious and Witty

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
The story started out slowly for me but it got really good.
I’m very intrigued in what happens with Poppy.
I’m loving the mystery and intrigue with Poppy trying to go through the life expected of her and trying to navigate it without getting k!lled.
Also loving Hawke. His and hers banter is hilarious. Onto part 2!

The Graphic Audio Version part 1 is amazing!
Katie Boothe and Khaya Fraites were amazing as Poppy and Tawny.

Absolutely love this.

This was a great variation of this book, this cast was phenomenal! From Poppy, to Tawny, to Victor, and OMG "HAWK" WAS PERFECT! As much as I loved Tim in the later books, I much prefer Stewart as "Hawk", his voice fits what I had in mind for him. I'm annoyed this is in 2 parts, I need part 2 now! 😭 I hope the other books will be done too! 🙏

I’ve read and listened to this series so many times. This adaptation made it seem like I was reading it for the first time again. The voices and performances were perfect. I can’t wait for the second half!!

Great voices and acting

Loved this dramatized version! Hawke/Casteels voice and acting was PERFECT! Sound effects and music added to the story and were not distracting. This version moved along the plot nicely and cut out much of poppy's constant inner monologue that's annoying in the written books. The only thing that bothered me was the mispronunciation of names and cities. Looking forward to reliving this story with future GA versions of the series.

I couldn’t stop listening!

This graphic audio was so well done! The voice actors were incredible and I especially enjoyed the music. I’ve never read this book before, so I felt like there were times it got a bit slow or repetitive. But overall it was fantastic and I am eagerly awaiting part 2 to be released!

Christmas song

Anyone else realize they used a Christmas song as background music? lol i really enjoyed the story but the Son of Mary playing in the background was funny and a little distracting
