Publisher's summary

Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me.

I’m still just Alli, aka the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years.

But when Underhill—the ancestral home of the fae—shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it.

A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.

A brutal madness spreads through the fae as they lose their connection to Underhill, and to save my people, my only choice is to leave all I have fought for and go on the run.

Unless I figure out how the hell magic that has existed since the dawn of time was destroyed with a single touch, well, an entire life spent fighting to prove myself isn’t going to mean anything at all. I must find the answer to the riddle of Underhill’s shattering.

Hunted by the very man I loved once upon a time.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

I couldnt care less about the story

While this book was funny at times, it had so much potential but the writing did a terrible job at making me care about any of the characters. Even the main character! I read the whole big and did not give a rats azz what happened. Did not shed one tear (and I am a big crier). Some part of me wonders if maybe it’s because of the dramatized adaptation? The FMC was great but she had this nonchalance that made everything seem light and fine instead of sad. Idk… not reading more past this. And definitely don’t expect a love story… there was none of that here.

Couldn't stand MFC voice

I tend to read a book and then listen to the audio version. I didn't do that with this book, and instead, just went right for the graphic audio version. Maybe that's where I went wrong. The story had potential, but I could NOT stand the MFC's voice. It didn't seem to fit the character at all, IMHO. I won't be purchasing the second audio book. I'm contemplating buying the actual book and reading it, though. Maybe I'll find that better.
