About this listen

Captivating and action-packed, From Blood and Ash is a sexy, addictive, and unexpected fantasy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Laura Thalassa.

A Maiden...

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty...

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom...

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

I haven’t had a book hangover like this in a long time!

This was so so so good. FBAA has been on my TBR for a long while, so I was really excited to see Graphic Audio was coming out with their adaptation.. then I got nervous after the disaster of Zodiac Academy. But this was so amazing. I need more. Immediately! Stewart Crank was an excellent choice for Casteel’s voice! I loved every part of this!

Could not stop listening

The story is captivating, and hooks you. Performance is excellent and I like that the language is toned down. Lots of unexpected twists. So fun.

Loved Hawke.

Finished it in one day. It was a great day! All of the voices were great. And the story kept me listening.the sound design was incredible that people sound closer and farther away. It feels like you’re there.

Performance was just Okay

The performance was okay at the most. Casteel’s voice actor is perfect but poppy’s voice actor was not exciting at all. The pronunciation of Solis, Delano, Priests Analia and MANY maaany more is awful. Love the story, love the characters but performance of the voices were subpar.

Made the book even better!

So I'm obsessed with this series and the prequel series and could honestly read it and listen to it a million times. But this graphic audio version is soooo good!! And could the voice for Hawke be any hotter or more perfect? Like omg. Highly recommend getting back into this world with the dramatized version. Can't wait for the rest of the series to come out on GA and hopefully the shadow in the ember series too!

Even graphic audio couldn’t save this one

This was not good. The inner monologues, the ridiculous storyline and the names! All the names sound alike, it’s so confusing. I love graphic audio but this one isn’t for me.

the cast!

i have both read this book and listened to the original Audiobook, and on a whim I decided to give the dramatized adaptation a shot.
What an amazing experience! I'm not stranger to graphic audio, but when I say this adaptation was spot on, I couldn't mean it more.
It brought a story that I am familiar with to a new light. The emotion and performances of the cast were everything I needed.

So freakin good

Absolutely incredible. Graphic Audio took an amazing story made it even better. I listened to this twice before reviewing and loved it just as much the second time. The only criticism would be the yells when poppy is angry. That was a lot when not expecting it. Honestly though the narration is perfection. Casteel voice is purr inducing. I can’t wait for the rest of the series on GA!

Name pronunciation

I loved this book when I read it myself, and with the normal audio book I found it hard to listen to because the voices weren’t what were in my head 😅 but I got past it because I love this series.
But with the graphic audio, oh my goodness. So many names they have pronounced differently from what the book and OG audio book has them pronounced.
Maybe get with the author about pronunciation before recording an audiobook normally or a graphic audio. It’s killing me.
