About this listen

The sixth book in the number one New York Times best-selling Field Party series - a Southern soap opera with football, cute boys, and pick-up trucks - from USA Today best-selling author Abbi Glines.

Ezmita Ramos has always had big plans for her future, ones that would take her far outside the Lawton city limits. But with overprotective parents who control every part of her life, she’s worried that these dreams will never become reality.

There’s nothing Asa Griffith wants more than to leave Lawton. It’s his senior year, and he’s all set to attend Ole Miss in the fall, but a part of him also worries about what will happen if he leaves his mom living alone with his abusive father. After a huge fight with his father that escalates to violence, Asa is forced out of the house in the middle of the night with nowhere to go.

When Asa and Ezmita cross paths that night, neither of them is in the mood to socialize. But they also feel this undeniable chemistry, one that gives them each hope that better days lie ahead. Then Asa is sent away to live with his grandmother for four months, only to return to Lawton and find out Ezmita has moved on. Still, the sparks between Asa and Ezmita linger. Neither of them has forgotten the way they felt seen by the other at their lowest points.

Can Asa and Ezmita find their way back to each other?

Good story

The story was good, well written. I not a fan of the Covid story lines.

Heartbreaking turns

This is one of the most books that was good, but also a lot. So incredibly heartbreaking. I can’t say anymore without saying something. But I do love Esmina’s confidence and vulnerability. I do think it was right.

Really....

This one was just, ugh first ok ok I get it you're keeping it to what was happening in the world but did we have to get that much COVID stuff then the whole damn story was soooo slow moving and sad and not even a good sad just purely depressing. It's well written and all as usual but didn't really fit with the series and so disappointing. No closure no resolution and characters who didn't even serve much of a purpose. Narration was pleasant so there's that.

Great story, mixed feelings about the ending.

This is a book that I had some mixed feelings about in the end. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline a lot. I thought that the romance was fleshed out nicely and that the characters had some nice chemistry. The ending is what I have mixed feelings about. The ending is rather abrupt and, dare I say, lacking. I felt that I didn't get the resolution that I was waiting for. On the other hand, I also felt that the ending was very realistic and more likely than any other outcome could have been. Even if the ending wasn't wholly satisfying, the rest of the book worked really well. I would still recommend this book even though the ending wasn't my cup of tea. If you are a hardcore romance fan that needs that HEA then you might want to skip this one. If you are a brave soul that enjoys the journey more than the destination then this book with jive with you.

Game Changer

I love these books but I didn’t like the ending to this book. I hope she writes another one & they eventually end up together. He’s lost everyone else.

My favorite of the series

This one just was wonderful. The narrators, the tension, the fact that these characters had much to overcome, the sensitive handling of mental illness and depression ... brilliantly done. I loved this series, but I REALLY loved this couple above all the others.

Worst book of the series!

I hate anything that adds Covid In it! I mean we have had to live it for years now and now we have to listen or read it about it! No thank you! Who wants to read about Covid! It was terrible! The male reader sounded as if he was just reading from the book no emotion at all. But it was probably bc he was bored. Then the ending sucked, if your gonna have death from Covid then let them at least me happy!

Let down

This was my last favorite of the series. The whole book was just sad and the ending was horrible.
