Gardening Lessons from My Mother grows on you

As a professional horticulturist, I was interested to hear this book to see what I might learn, and to discover a reference that I might share with the folks I work with that are just learning about the fun of gardening. The book starts out with the very basic things a person might need to get started. The author gets it right when she emphasizes the importance of creating great soil before the planting begins. She then goes into depth on how to plant and nurture each plant group. I learned a lot about producing peppers, and the rewards of each pepper variety. I do recommend this book to gardeners of all experience levels. Furthermore, I recommend this book to teachers to use as reference for their students.

The voice talent, Rebecca White, conveyed the enthusiasm and expertise written by the author Elizabeth Child. When Rebecca referred to the advice given by the author’s mother, I could clearly imagine a lady in sun hat and work gloves puttering in her garden as she dishes out the advice to her daughter.
