Covers just about everything you can imagine when it comes to caring for your houseplants. It covers everything from watering and fertilizing to potting and repotting in containers to how to choose the plants you want in your garden. Also talks about colder climates and how to keep pests away. I recommend this book for anyone trying to turn their thumb green!

educational, good narration

I enjoyed this audio.
This book is put together well and has tons of easy tips to follow.
The most valuable advice I learned after listening to this book is to select the right plant.
This is so you know it should thrive in your house or apartment.
I have had a few plants I have cared for but still didn’t thrive since they are not suitable for my home.
For me, this is the greatest takeaway- get the correct plants for your chosen space.
The author also discusses soil mixes, storing soil, and fertilizer.
I recommend this book for all plant lovers or newbies.

Plants are living, breathing things that need care

I have enjoyed having houseplants for over 50 years, and I still learned a few things from this well-written guide. My grandchildren are starting on their own with independent living spaces. I went shopping with my granddaughter to get her first plant babies for her dorm room. She made her purchase based on how cute the plant was and how it made her feel happy. She spent more time picking out a name for her plant than learning how to care for it at first. Caring for plants is absolutely a joy, but it is also a responsibility for another living thing. She had so many questions. David Mayer's guide is the perfect book for her!

The author has a very reassuring way with words to help any beginner, especially those who may have tried and not experienced success initially.

You welcome a new plant into your home with great enthusiasm and anticipation. But it does not stop there. Do not relegate your plant to a dark corner of the house. Like dogs, plants are living, breathing things that need care and attention. This book provides what you need to know about watering, light, airflow, temperature, and humidity.

Do not give up. Plants in our living spaces are significant for so many reasons. Your indoor plants can flourish with just a few simple adjustments on your part.

Growing a plant can seem daunting, but once you know what to grow and how to grow it, you'll love every minute of your houseplant gardening experience.

By black thumb is turning green!

There’s a lot of really great information in there, and the author really simplified it. I knew I must’ve been doing some things wrong, and I learned several that are likely that I will begin to apply right away. I can’t wait to go and breathe some new life into my plants!
