Publisher's summary

A wolf hasn't just met his mate...but his match.

Dewi Bleacke's life is complicated enough, between settling in with Ken, her new vegetarian mate, being the Targhee pack's Head Enforcer, and trying to manage daily responsibilities running the extended pack council there in Tampa.

Oh, yeah, her brothers insist on a formal wedding.

But when her long-time friend and Enforcer partner, Beck, finds his mate during an operation, Dewi feels guilty that he has to let her go or risk the completion of their job. She makes it her responsibility to help Beck track her down.

Looks like the headstrong Namiyah Drexler won't be easy to get along with. Until Nami's family gets in trouble, and she needs Dewi's help to save them. Adding insult to injury, Nami teams up with Ken to help plan the shifter wedding of all weddings.

Dewi would rather face a drug gang than wear a froufrou dress...or, she just might have to do both.

Mating Can Be Hard

This one has been sitting on my shelf for a while but when I saw it on Aubible it was a great way to jump back into this series. Beck is at lose ends with his partner mated so it's a happy surprise when he finds his own mate. But she won't be so easy to convince. These are two strong people and lots of fun as they work learn to work together.

good, but different from the first

this book is mostly about Beck and his mate Nami. Dewi and Ken are still featured pretty prominently, but the focus is off them for majority of the story. I wasn't nearly as interested in Beck and Nami than I was with Dewi and Ken, but it was still done well enough to keep me engaged, and I got enough Dewi and Ken to still recommend it to others.

also, little nitpick, but Nami and her family are black, and hearing the narrator try to speak like a saucy black lady was pretty cringe at times. nothing too offensive but cringe nonetheless.

this book was not as good as the first.

i could not get into the audio book no matter how hard i tried. beck's voice sounded like he was constipated all the time. Not to mention this book kind of ruined dewi for me. i feel her blatant use of mind control powers to inflict pain or deciding who gets to think what based on her own morals and opinions made her kind of sadistic and superior to any one outside her immediate circle. The story itself is just to obvious. i dont know what i was expecting maybe this is supposed to be a sex novel so im over thinking it but even then theres not enough sex either so what hell. all i can say is im glad i read the first book in the series before this one because i mite not have continued reading the series
