About this listen

What do you do when the dead come back and your loved ones disappear?

All Gabe McKenna wanted was a new floor for his barn. What he got was seven corpses, all long dead. Seven rich men missing from New York.

One of his closest childhood friends is gunned down in an Albuquerque casino. After escaping two attempts on his own life and with time running out, McKenna must uncover the connection and prevent his loved ones from joining the growing ranks of the dead.

From New Mexico to New York to a lonely cliff once home to an ancient people, McKenna struggles against a bloodthirsty criminal enterprise for whom money matters more than any man's life.

Never A Dull Moment

Kidera has done a great job with this series. The characters are entertaining and there's storyline keeps you guessing from the get-go. I'm waiting anxiously for the next book in the series.

This isn't my kind of mystery but I like it. It's a lean, mean detecting machine that starts simply and stays that way. A surprising twist pops up so frequently I can't quit listening until I find out what's going on. love the story.

Very enjoyable continuation of the series.

I thought this was a very enjoyable follow-up to the first book and there are definitely recurring themes now that I’ve read the first three books – very pleasant ‘easy reading’, relies heavily on the charm of the main character, Gabe gets himself into most of the problems he has, and you need a moderate dash of ‘suspension of disbelief’ because the plot does get a little bit far-fetched at times but in an entertaining way, and it doesn’t go too far so it’s not off-putting.

The reader really makes these books a pleasant read, he’s just perfect for who you imagine Gabe to be.

I enjoy these books very much, they’re a relaxing, somewhat old-fashioned mystery book – they actually remind me of the old tv shows where the emphasis was on the protagonist, not the mystery-of-the-week. I would absolutely read more of this series – sometimes you’re in the mood for a murder mystery, but without it being intense and heavy – that’s what these books are.
