About this listen

In the nation’s Capital, someone is re-enacting the murders from a series of grisly horror books, and all the evidence points towards the author as the perpetrator.

The big problem with that? He died a year ago.

In suspicious circumstances.

There were rumours of murder, but no arrests followed the original investigation. Now the victims are those who were closest to him, and it looks like the author has come back from the dead to exact his revenge.

Hired by the author’s wife, who fears she may be next, Amanda and Tempest head to London for a case that will challenge the premise on which their business is built: that the supernatural does not exist.

You’re going to want to sleep with the light on.

The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving it might get them killed.

Horrible virtual voice narration

I have loved all the Blue Moon Investigations books, and bought 3 books narrated by virtual voice. Mistake. I am only a few hours into this one and already lost interest. I don't like the narration a bit. The virtual voice is monotone and makes nothing for the story. I understand the savings a virtual reader creates, but please bring back the human voices.

Virtual voice is terrible

Loved the story. Mr Higgs is a great and prolific writer. Unfortunately, the virtual voice is terrible. It has a sing song cadence, lacks the appropriate inflections a human voice provides and more importantly, the humor, snark and sarcasm a real person would provide. Why they used a male voice for a book written from a female perspective is beyond me. If it didn’t come free with my membership I would not have listened to it.

The narrator

I didn’t like the virtual narration. If using a virtual narrator, at least give it the right voice. I’m sure there are options for gender and accents. This was written from Amanda’s POV, yet the voice was male, AND it did not have a British accent, which it should, since the characters are British.
