About this listen

Caina Amalas is a Ghost nightfighter, an assassin and spy of the Emperor, and her cunning saved the city of Marsis from a brutal invasion.

Now she must keep the war from becoming worse.

The nobles of the Imperial city of Cyrioch plan to revolt, and assassins stalk the high lords of the Empire. Only Caina stands between the Empire and a ruinous civil war.

But Caina faces a far more dangerous enemy than mere assassins.

A enemy that whispers from the darkness of her own mind....

Never Gets Old!

I just finished this book, the 5th in the series and with every reading I still cant get enough. Caina has a brilliant mind and a hard life did not change that. I enjoy how she works out a problems her mind pushing through oddities with ease. Hollis has really given life to each of the characters in this series and I always know who is speaking which is harder to do I would think. I know others have pointed out a few of the grammar related flaws but I hope that does not dissuade others from reading this series. Sure there are a few but it does not in any way take away from the stories presentation. I have purchased some of the books in this series and I have been gifted some of the books in the series, this one was a gift but my opinion is the same of them all. Its a really good series with well designed characters that you will enjoy journeying with.

Great continuation of the story

Another great story and adventure featuring Caina Amalas, and a new character, Corvalis. A lot of excitement and adventure in this one, along with some new elements that I won't mention because I don't want to spoil it. It's fun to see Caina growing up in each story and become more refined, while also trying to figure out who she is. The narration was excellent in this one, and I love listening to how the narrator has a tone for the different characters.

New Twist Keeps Series Riveting

No spoiler review: Five books in, Caina's journey can be seen as repetitive - the ghosts are presented with a new nemesis, Caina dons a disguise, then saves the day after much political and tactical maneuvering amid a series of fights and nail biting suspense. However, the author adds a major new element in a few books, and Ghosts in the Stone has a very interesting addition that keeps the reader glued to see what will happen next. If you enjoy the series, this one won't disappoint, and the narrator is excellent as always.
