Publisher's summary

Gideon Ramsay is so far in the closet he should be a talking faun.

A talented, mercurial, and often selfish man, Gideon has everything he should want in life. Fame, money, acting awards - he has it all. Everything but honesty. At the advice of his agent, Gideon has concealed his sexuality for years. But it’s starting to get harder to hide, and his increasingly wild behavior is threatening to destroy his career. Then, he’s laid low by a serious illness and into his life comes Eli Jones.

Eli is everything that Gideon can’t understand. He’s sunny tempered, friendly, and optimistic. Even worse, he’s unaffected by grumpiness and sarcasm, which forms 90 percent of Gideon’s body weight. And now, Gideon is trapped with him without any recourse to the drugs and alcohol that have previously eased his way through awkward situations.

However, as Gideon gets to know the other man, he finds himself wildly attracted to his lazy smiles and warm, scruffy charm that seem to fill a hole inside Gideon that’s been empty for a long time. Will he give in to this incomprehensible attraction when it could mean the end of everything that he’s worked for?

From the best-selling author of the Mixed Messages series comes a story about a man who needs to realize that being true to yourself is really just a form of finding home. This is the third book in the Finding Home series, but it can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Gideon Redeemed

For me, of the three books, I rate them in favor from Oz to Gideon to Milo. For narration, they are equally well done. The final chapter is an extended epilogue that looks 7 years into the future, and anchors the already firm HEA.

Gideon is a compelling character who is naturally churlish, but this is exacerbated by a sort of cornered animal emotional context. Spoiler: Yes, he apologizes to Milo. Eli is strong enough and smart enough to be his match, and the kind of good that brings light to others.

A character from another one of her series makes a cameo and that's fun for long time readers.

Joel Leslie delivers his usual strong performance, managing the multiple accents required by this series with ease.

Story’s good

Narration though, I normally like Joel Leslie, most of his accents are really on point, but this welsh accent sounds like a cross between scotch and Indian…
Everything else is good though!

I just need to protect you

Frankly speaking, after the second book Milo, I didn’t know whether I’d be able to like Gideon as a person and boy, was I wrong. I am sold on Gideon and Eli’s love story and now I love Gideon. Should have never doubted the goddess Lily Morton.

After being in self-denial, doubts and on the patch of self-destruction for a couple decades, Gideon finally caught pneumonia which almost costed him his life. Now he has no choice but to stay away from all the nasty drugs and twinks that he indulges all the time, stay in bed and recuperate. And for that, he needs someone who will take care of him and more importantly can tolerate his nasty temper and cutting, snarky remarks. Cue and enter Eli who’s sweet, charming, extremely patient and most importantly able to tolerate Gideon’s nasty temper who also happened to be super-qualified nurse. When these two very opposites men are trapped together on a months long cruise, Gideon discovered that Eli is nothing like he has through the before. He is sweet, considerate, charming, loving and is able to understand all his insecurities and fears. And Eli just wants to help Gideon escape from the evil clutches of his bastard manager and live his life to the fullest. A bud of love blossomed on a romantic cruise and so much more.

Signature Lily Morton snark and witty banter! I gobbled up everything about the conversations between Gideon and Eli. I’m also glad that Gideon was finally able to come out of his shell and connect with the characters from the previous books. It was really sweet and charming. And my, that Frankie the manager is a nasty piece of work. Seriously, karma could have brought a much more severe comeuppance for all his manipulation and threaten on Gideon over the years. And Joel Leslie did such a stellar job portraying Gideon and Eli. He really does snarky and witty banter the best. Overall, couldn’t get enough and I wish to get more Lily Morton books/audios ASAP.

Loved!

Joel Leslie does his usual amazing job of bringing this story to life! I love a good redemption story and Gideon is just that. Gideon has been lost for years. He has led a life of great professional success with very little personal success. Having been raised in boarding schools with very little family interaction he us lonely and doesn’t feel worthy of love. Felled by illness he is now in the hands of his hired nurse Eli.

Eli is light and hope he is snark and sarcastic wit. He is strong enough to handle Gideon’s many moods. Eli sees the msn behind the public face.

I loved the chemistry and connection between these two men. Watching their relationship evolve over time was beautiful. They both worked hard to get their HEA Hat’s off to one of the best epilogues I have ever read!

Amazing story!

Narrator: ★★★★★ Stars!!
Story: ★★★★★ Stars!!

Loved. Loved. LOVED this story! Gideon definitely doesn't start off as a likeable guy with his IDGAF about anyone attitude. But once the layers start to peel off.....GAH! I love me some Gideon! And Eli was just absolutely perfect for him.

Lily Morton delivers such a beautiful story about being true to yourself and finding love when you least expect it. I think that Joel Leslie narrated this to perfection. He truly brought these characters to life and did such a great job capturing the emotions, the desire and the humor. I enjoyed listening to this story. Another great story from this author.

Love Joel Leslie

The irony of Gideon being called the man with the golden voice. This is probably my 8th book narrated by Joel Leslie. I find myself looking for them now. He is fantastic as is this series. Every one of their stories has been so great, I think Oz is still my favorite but this was fantastic. Thank you Lily Morton for writing such wonderful escapism in a wolf when we need more and more each day. Who is next?! The attorney? Maybe Eli’s flat mate?!? ❤️❤️❤️

Best of series

Probably the best of the series. With a huge war chest of comedic errors and situations aboard an older folks cruise could provide. The author was so sparing in the possibility. Some great stuff. But there was so much potential in that situation. A great read overall, 10*

a really enjoyable opposites attract romance

This was an excellent grump versus sunshine book about finally allowing your true self to be seen and allowing that self to be loved. The interactions between Gideon and Eli were funny and, at times, heartbreaking. Joel Leslie’s narration was spot on.
