About this listen

Cold days. Steamy nights. It must be the holidays in the highlands.

When an American ex-marine falls for a Scottish lass, the sparks are explosive. But Gavin Douglas botches his proposal, leaving Jamie MacTaggart hurt and angry. So she makes a different offer: sizzling sex with no strings and no intimacy. He'll do anything to get her back, even accept her crazy proposition, because he hasn't traveled halfway around the world to give up without a fight.

Five years ago, Jamie gave up her family and her beloved homeland to satisfy a man, only to wind up humiliated and alone. She vowed never to repeat that mistake. When Gavin offers her a credit card instead of a ring, after 18 months of intercontinental romance, she fears he's just like the man who hurt her before. After all, Gavin doesn't get along with her brothers....

From Halloween to Christmas, Gavin will do whatever it takes to win back Jamie - and somehow earn the approval of her overprotective brothers. Regaining Jamie's trust is hard, but winning over her stern brother Rory may prove the hardest task of all. As the two men engage in a battle of wills and muscles, Gavin must defeat his inner demons and Jamie's ex-fiancé or risk losing everything.

Enjoyable listen!

In this one I don’t know whether to feel bad for Jamie or Gavin. I did enjoy watching Gavin get back in her good graces and Jamie realizing her feeling for him. That makes this a good story. What levels it up are the relatives, the Scottish games and all the joking between the families. We also get a peek at the next in the series.

I did listen to this on audio. Mary Ann Weathers and Patrick Zellar are the narrators. They both do a great job and are easy on the ears.

Jamie and Gavin's HEA

Jamie and Gavin met while Aidan and Calli were getting together in Wicked in a Kilt. They had an instant attraction, but we only got glimpses of their relationship. They love each other, but they each have unresolved baggage. That baggage is causing trouble now. Fortunately for them, the American Wives Club is ready to assist (read meddle). It takes a while, but Jamie and Gavin finally break through their fears to become a solid couple. But more challenges show up, some funny and some not so funny. I loved the way they worked everything out. I also enjoyed that Rory and Emery are so involved in this book because they are so hilarious together.
The narrarators did a fantastic job with this one. Not only are there lots of characters to keep straight, Jamie and Gavin have lots of complicated feelings that have to be demonstrated in order to keep this story on track. I thought Patrick Zeller did an especially good job of handling Gavin's fears. Mary Ann Weathers brings Emery to life in a very funny way, too.

I love this series!

This the fourth book in the Hot Scots series. It is better to listen to this series in order for a better enjoyment. Jamie and Gavin’s story is beautifully written, emotional, funny, sweet, sexy and heartwarming. There are such amazing characters. Jamies is beautiful and feisty. She is a McTaggart, sister of Aiden, Lachlan and Rory. Gavin is very handsome. He is Calli’s brother (Aiden’s wife). I love this series. The family bonds are amazing. The supporting characters are fantastic. It was so great to see again the characters from the previous books in the series. Mary Ann Weathers and Patrick Zeller did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

what accent are the narrators trying to use?

The story is fun, but the narrators butchered it. I have no idea what accent they are attempting but my grandparents are rolling in their graves over the attempted Scottish accents

Way too Long

This could have been a short story. It was five hours too long. I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books in this series, but this one was not as enjoyable.
