About this listen

A vicious storm. A celebrity murder. And a killer at sea.
The Sea Angel is a party boat. But the final cruise of the summer proves to be the last dance for film superstar Kasia Simon.

DC Holly Towns snags an extra paid shift on board the Sea Angel, and can hardly believe her luck. A plainclothes gig providing security seems like a holiday. But the night turns deadly, when she finds a body on a lower deck, beautiful and glamorous except for the gunshot wound to the temple.

With the rest of the CIU team called to a terrifying sniper incident, Holly is on her own to get the investigation rolling.

But before the night is out, a vicious storm whips the lake into a frenzy, and no one knows if the Sea Angel will make it to port. With a celebrity victim, an armed killer on board, waves washing over the deck, and no backup, Holly’s worried. Very worried.

At the same time, the past is calling more insistently. The death of her parents is now an official cold case investigation, and Holly’s supposed to be sticking to the sidelines. It’s an order she might not be able to follow, despite the consequences.

If you like complex characters, twisty plots, and a fast-paced story, the Goodbye… series is for you.

Great Characters and a Clever Plot

I used to avoid the Plus Catalog books--particularly the 'virtual voice' narrations. Lately, however, I have been checking them out and have found several that were delightful. This series of four is an excellent example. The main character is interesting and fun. The plot is clever and quick-moving. Having grown up on Lake Ontario, I enjoyed the fact that it was both part of the story and well-described. (Cold all of the time.) I generally enjoy police procedurals from the UK, but found the Canadian slant fun as well. I think you will enjoy this.
