About this listen

Win the game. Lose your heart.

Everyone knows who I am and that I could have any female fan I want. That's supposed to be the "perk" of playing left field for the Boston Renegades. But I don't want just any woman; I want her.

She should be just another face in the crowd, but I can't stop thinking about the one night we spent together - and her look of regret the morning after.

Because Saylor Blackwell is the kind of woman who haunts a man. Smart, sexy as hell, and one of the best managers in the business. She's every ballplayer's dream woman. And I'd do anything to make things right with her.

I'm done sitting on the bench when it comes to Saylor Blackwell. Time to swing for the fences.

Great sports read

I always enjoy reading this author and I did with this one as well, but I found myself upset with the female MC more than once. Her actions frustrated me more than normal. I still loved the story and rooted for them as a couple, Travis was easily lovable and what I expected. I think his love and faith in Sailor made her more likable. I loved her with her daughter and her priorities were right, but I struggled with some of her decisions. Watching what Travis had to go through was heartbreaking and he was incredible with the kids. The performance was fun and easy to listen to pulling me into the story. Overall a great read.

4.5 Stars

I was a little annoyed with how easily everything came together at the end when that was the point of contention throughout the book.

A wonderful listen. A Beautiful Romance

Grand Slam!! Out of the Park!! Heidi McLaughlin slid into home plate scoring another win. Okay that is enough of the baseball metaphors. But seriously, Grand Slam was an amazing read. Not only that we could all learn something as well--never be quick to judge before all the facts are out there.

I will admit that Ryan Stone, manager of the Renegades, is a favorite of mine. The way he handled the situation Travis found himself in only had me giving hi a little more of my heart.

I like Travis Kidd and he was definitely handed a raw deal. His situation created a lot of emotion for the reader and the character. It isn't every author that respects his/her characters enough to let a grown man cry. It made him more believable, more credible. He had my support even when others failed. He had my tears.

One of them that failed him was Saylor. Yes, she had her own problems. But a little communication would have gone a long way. Luckily for her, Travis is a compassionate man, a loving man. His patience knew no bounds adding to the delightful story and the complicated emotions weaved throughout the pages.

Grand Slam was riddled with emotional landmines. There were times I actually thought I wouldn't get the illusive Happily Ever After. When all was said and done I got not just one HEA but it was a Grand Slam. I look forward to more Boys of Summer with just a sprinkling of Lucy, cause that girl rocks.

Great story with frustrating heroine

The story was filled with a rollercoaster of emotions. But I find myself angry with the heroine by 25% into it. Nearly all of her issues could have been resolved if she would have just communicated with the hero. Frustrating
