Becoming a father was the proudest day of my life.

Becoming a godfather was a close second.

Paul and Emily Clarke have been my best friends for over twenty years. We've gone through it all. We were the three musketeers.

When my best friends are ripped from all of our lives, leaving behind a broken piece of themselves, I know it's up to me to put things back together.

Only the pieces aren't fitting the way they used to. The feelings aren't what they used to be. The actions… Let's just say I've made some questionable ones lately.

Does that stop me from wanting her? From reaching for her? From craving her?

I wish I could tell you yes. But that would make me a liar.

Good story, though I would have loved a duet style. The burn is SLOW—much slower than I normally enjoy. But it was worth it. The ending seemed to abruptly cut off, where I would have loved a bit more. But that seems to be the theme of the book, “just a little more”.

Ended abruptly

Whew. Okay. Gratify by Katelyn Taylor came in hot—and I was not ready. This was my first book by her, and let me tell you, it will not be my last. I was expecting a little taboo age gap angst, but what I got was a full-course emotional buffet with a side of breeding kink and trauma bonding. Bless this mess.

Think: Birthday Girl, Older and Still Beating had a love child and named it Gratify. That’s the vibe.

We’ve got 18-year-old Andromeda (Naveah to him 😵‍💫), fresh off the tragic loss of both her parents, crashing into the arms—and eventually, the bed—of Atlas, her godfather, her dad’s best friend, and co-owner of the family business. You know… light reading.

Atlas? Total DILF. Broody, tortured, graying at the temples, morally struggling not to fall for the girl he swore to protect—but also fully unhinged when he finally snaps. A reluctant king with a soft spot for his girl and a serious breeding kink. 🫠 We love a man who grieves and rails.

Their connection feels intense, raw, and honestly? Beautiful in its chaos. But just when you think we’re in the clear… boom. Naveah peaces out to Greece for a year with no word. ZERO COMMUNICATION. She wanted to “find herself,” which I get, but girl—you found a whole man who worships the ground you walk on and you dipped?!

I struggled with that part. She pushed for the relationship, pulled him into it despite his hesitations, and then did the very thing he feared. Did it make sense for her age? Yes. Did it frustrate me? Also yes.

But here’s the thing—this story isn’t just taboo spice and age gap drama. It’s a deep, tender exploration of grief, identity, healing, and rediscovering love when the dust settles. Their reunion? Worth every angsty, time-jumpy page. And the role Atlas’ son played? Unexpected and perfect.

Final verdict: If you like your forbidden romance with substance, steam, and just the right amount of unhinged emotional damage—this one delivers. Buckle up. And maybe book a therapy session.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️ | Taboo? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.

"I'll easily push my own pain to the side to see her through this."

🖤Gratify is a binge worthy age gap (23 years) taboo forbidden romance!! This book kept me hooked to the end. Overall, it had a great storyline, and the character growth and development throughout the story was top tier!! I don't normally like slow burn reads, but this one really did it for me! Once the spice took off, it never left!! The characters in this book go through every emotion, and the writing truly makes you feel it right along with them 🖤

I would love to see a spin-off book about Theo and where his journey takes him as well. I started off the book hating him for what he did to the FMC but ended up liking him in the end!!

Sooo Goood!!

I loved this story but felt like it ended abruptly. I wanted an epilogue. I wanted this story to extend. I guess that’s a good thing when you don’t want the story to end.

I loved this

I am in love with this book! It was written well and kept you hanging on for more each and every chapter. It was hard to set the book down and I finished within a week! Don’t pick this book up, unless you have all the time to sit and purge! 😍😍🙌🏻🙌🏻 We need more of their story though! I need more of Atlas and Nevaeh!

Steamy Read!

I've read alpt of books by this author. not my favorite. story is ok and narrator does in my opinion I awful job. Atlas side is great but the female narrator sounds likes she reading from the book, way too fast and without emotion.

***LIGHT SPOILERS***

This is a unique story which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I am giving it 4.5 ⭐️ because it thoroughly pissed me off how Atlas would be all possessive towards Andromeda and say “you’re mine” and then immediately after his orgasm he would tell her he regretted it…several times. I enjoyed how mature Andromeda was during the story and how even though Theo initially broke her heart they ended up becoming best friends again in the end. This story has an eventual HEA but I was also annoyed with the disappearing act she pulled, a few months is one thing but years!?!?
