Suffering through the Narration again

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I'm not sure why other than the story I am suffering though this god awful narration again

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Phillips’s performance?

her voice inflections, mispronunciation of words, her childlike voice ruins scenes of importance

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

as long as Elizabeth Phillips doesn't do voice overs Yes

Realizm

The narrator purposely mispronounced numerous words throughout the book. It was irritating to say the least. it's almost like they wanted people to stop reading the book or listening to the book because they were just some words there's no reason for her to mispronounce at all.

No connection to Volume 1 part 1

This book was not as well written and or conceived as the first book and there was no connection to the story. It was almost like somebody else wrote it.
It was not a bad book or a bad story but was disappointed in the thought that it would leak up with volume one part one.

Reader needs to learn plurals.

when will the reader learn plurals that end in ves as in knives, lives, leaves, wives? every time I hear them it's like a slap in the face. I looked at the Kindle edition sample and the chapter on wolves spelled correctly. Even if it wasn't as a reader I would have mentally corrected this glaring Grammer error, every time without a second thought. that and looked up SERE to hear it's pronounced 'sear'. There were a few other mispronounced words but those are forgotten amount the dozens upon dozens of missed ves plurals. I write this while I'm listening to part 3 and wonder why no one corrected the reader. The things I did like was the misfortunes that befall people, the logistics, and how each fight wasn't easy or how none really came without a cost. one last note. firing weapons without ear protection will ruin your hearing footsteps in the forest hearing for awhile so you only have sight and smell left.

Dont waste your money, worst than part 1

What disappointed you about Grid Down Reality Bites: Volume 1, Part 2?

This story was downright awful. I cant finish it, so unrealistic. Grid down, is everywhere but at Junior's house, why they have electricity and apple pie. Oh the dog attack is about as unreal as zombies. I bought part 2 hoping it would continue from part 1. That is what most sequels do right ? Not this one. It has been a month since I listened to it, and I am still disappointed enough to write this review warning other buyers, THE SERIES IS AWFUL.

What could Bruce Buckshot Hemming and Sara Freeman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Continue the story started in Part 1 which was more realistic that this part 2.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Elizabeth Phillips?

Yes, anybody but her.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No. If there are any nuggets or redeeming qualities in this story the narrator ruins it.

Works better if you read the books first.

Several reviews complain that this doesn't pick up where Volume 1 left off. When I first read the books, the first 3 volumes were 1 book. So, you followed 3 groups of people through the first part of the apocalypse. Then the rest of the series concentrated on 1 group per book. I think they separated them out to make the narration shorter, but still make sense.

Speaking of narration, the narrator is horrible! If i hadn't read the books myself first, i would have turned it off before she finished the first chapter. It's like listening to a 12 year old, who has a 3rd grade reading level, read a book. She mispronounced several words and phrases and it just takes you out of the story. I find myself yelling in the car, "its WOLVES, stop saying 'woofs'!!!" "Ruger Mark eleven" when it should be "Ruger Mark II (2)" "Maowing them down" instead of "mowing". Just a few that she says REPEATEDLY.

Not horrible but trying to say the least!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Some of the story and dialogue is sophomoric. It kind of ends up being "prepper entertainment". There are some pretty lame military references. Its apparent the author has VERY minimal knowledge of the military. Something as basic as referring to the DoD course "SERE", pronounced "sear" continually referred to as S-E-R-E. Come on guys...watch a movie or google something once in a while.

The dialogue between some of the characters is really clunky and goofy; the chat between the two goofballs claiming to "own the lake now" is a good example. Some interaction comes off feeling like half-assed comedy skits.

The narrator's contributions are pretty lame. She mispronounces MANY words, over and over, not tough words just silly stuff like knives (knifes) and leaves (leafes) and mower (mao-wer).

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Yadda Yadda

Would you be willing to try another one of Elizabeth Phillips’s performances?

No way in hell!

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not so much.

Any additional comments?

If you like prepper stories and stuff and you read a lot of them then its an okay way to pass time. If you're looking for an engaging and really informative read...keep looking and return to this when you're jaded.

WHY DIDN'T I CHECK THE REVIEWS! NARRATOR IS AWFUL

What disappointed you about Grid Down Reality Bites: Volume 1, Part 2?

Wow, I don't mean to insult the narrator, but they clearly picked the wrong person for the job. It sounds like a 3rd grade teacher reading an apocalyptic novel. I lasted 1 chapter and will delete it off my phone.

What could Bruce Buckshot Hemming and Sara Freeman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Hired Christian Rummel.
