Publisher's summary

In a world reliant on technology, the bright flashes in the sky were just the beginning.

With the power gone, the UK falls into a state of panic. The ensuing anarchy is simply the warm-up act. Shaun Taylor is stranded far from home, far from a broken family he needs to make whole again, and he will do whatever it takes to get back to them. What would you do to get home? What would you do if the lights went out?

From the best-selling author of After It Happened and Toy Soldiers comes a new UK post-apocalyptic series.

Surprisingly Good

The narrator was terrific. The story was thought provoking. The bottom line was that it’s possible.

Another Good Storyline To Get Lost In

I really enjoyed this new book by Devon. Always appreciate the fact when I’m listening in he immediately transports me into the story to where I feel like I’m with the characters myself. All the emotions they are feeling are pretty much relatable. I wish to def see ALOT more in this series!

Good novel of what happens after apocalypse.

This is a well written novel of the immediate results of an apocalyptic event. The stories follow several main characters as they cope with changes after the apocalypse. I really look forward to the next novel in this series.

Enjoyable very British story!

Devon is always good! Having a British reader made this one even more fun! Humor, great character development, interesting from start to finish! Now on to Book 2! TY Devon! I own over half his novels.

Characters I care about!

I took a chance on this one because I enjoyed DCF's After It Happened series. As a Yank I find the Brit-lingo satisfyingly exotic. Narrator could brush up on Indian accents but everything else sounded good to my ears. Everything is plausible so far.

Yes

Yes- must listen for the apocalypse fan that doesn’t require hordes of zombies or cannibal do bladders.

Devon C Ford’s After the Silence Review

This is my first read from this author. The narrator, Kevin Kemp, masterfully drew me into the story and kept me there. The book is keenly prophetic given current world events. I enjoyed the book but was also terrified. I hope this work of fiction does not become my reality as it has already done for so many people.

Wow! So Good.

I'm a huge fan of the After if Happened series and this is right on par. I cannot wait for the next two books and hope it goes past 3 but either way, I'm so stoked to have a post-apocalyptic series based in reality and from Devon C. Ford. Kevin Kemp crushes it as well.

Worthy start for a series

It took a bit for me to get sucked in the storyline. At some point it started clicking on all cylinders. Some authors in this genre over do it with droves of characters trying to fit them in. I think this was just right for a solid base for character building.

The narrator was pleasant to listen to. He lifted the story with his dynamic voice changes.
