About this listen

Dex Cooper

Bassist, addict, charmer.

He came blaring into my world playful and demanding. Hiding his demons behind a panty melting smile. I knew he was bad for me but Dex made bad feel so good. So I played along with his games until he destroyed everything. With Dex Cooper, everything was a game but I’m done playing.

Siobhan Rawlings

Fiery redhead, cherry pie, mine.

She eased the cravings that ruled my body. Gave me peace from the memories that haunt me. But I knew it wouldn't last. I couldn't keep her. I destroy everything and I would ruin her if I didn't let her go. But I couldn’t do it, so I made her my wife.

She thought we were just having fun, thought this was just another game we were playing.

She’s wrong and now I have to prove to her that this time I'm playing for keeps.

Return to the world of Forgotten Legacy.

Excellent!

Finally! I feel like I have been waiting forever for Dex's story. This story was nothing short of amazing. Filled with angst, drama, and secrets galore, Guarded Addiction drew me in right from the start.

The chemistry between Dex and Siobhan was off the charts. Some of the scenes...well all I can say is HOLY HOTNESS! First we had strawberries, now we have cherries. I don't know about you but I can't look at fruit the same way anymore.

This Forgotten Legacy tattooed, bad boys series has quickly made its way onto my all-time favorites list.

Love this book

I absolutely loved this audio book. This story is interconnected with Forgotten Legacy series. I loved the characters, Dex Cooper and Siobhan Rawlings. Dex is a charismatic hot bassist who is in denial of his addiction. Siobhan is a sweet feisty young woman who is best friends with Harper (Harper is the female lead in Tattooed Memories). Dex officially meets Siobhan on a train when they were in their early 20’s and they feel a connection right away, it’s love at first sight. Then one day Dex disappears with no explanation leaving Siobhan devastated. Several years later he comes back into Siobhans life and the sparks between them are still there. But there are dangerous dark secrets that Dex is keeping and Siobhan can’t afford to trust him.

This story had everything I look for in a book, romance, super hot loving, mystery, a little danger and we get to catch up with the characters from the previous books.

I recommend this audio book for all the reasons listed above but also because L. Ann is such a fantastic storyteller, this book has so much emotion in the written words, I stayed up way past when I should have been sleeping to finish this book, it was that good.

Oh these boys

I can’t not get enough of the bad boys of forgotten legacy and Dex is no exception! The roller coaster of this mans actions are enough to keep you entertained for days. Siobhan, she’s a doll. A sweetheart who just can’t seem to resist the bad boy. The story isn’t just an entertaining romance, L. Ann takes it to the next level and get your emotions all involved and just wrings every emotion out of you till you are not sure you love or hate her! (Definitely love her). Her ability to transport you to the rockstar world and endear all her characters blows me away every time and while you can read each story as a standalone, you gain so much by reading them all so when other characters appear you are already invested in them too. I don’t have enough good things to say about this book or this series.

Thomas always does a wonderful job giving books life and I was sucked back in and loved every minute of it. I love to read then listen because what I focus on and what the narrator emphasizes opens my eyes to things I missed while reading adds and extra layer of emotion and just blows me away.

Get ready for a wild ride

Dex is such a good bad boy. He's all full of danger and lust. Siobhan is his match. Their back and forth had me so frustrated. JUST BE TOGETHER! But not everything in life is that simple. These two definitely had to work at it. They both are stubborn. Then danger is around the corner. This also really touched on the burden of addiction. I thought the reality of live hard and fast lifestyle was well portrayed in this book. And talk about steamy! This Rockstar definitely has the moves. And Siobhan is such a great strong female. She is one of my favorite characters! And this book had me guessing. It went in the directions I did not expect it to go! I love when a book does that. This narrator oozed sex and danger in his narration. It really enhanced the already epic story.

Dex and Siobhan

L Ann has done it again, this third book in the Forgotten Legacy Series is one that doesn't only feature Siobhan Rawlings and Dex Cooper, they are the main characters but we learn more about the other band members too, we catch up on Harper and Gabe, and find out what it was that made Luca into the man he is today. We find out why Luca and Dex are so close as well as so much more.

When Dex first saw Siobhan Forgotten Legacy had been discovered but he wasn't as well recognised as Gabe and Seth, so he could still go out without being mobbed. He was on a subway train, she was talking with her landlord on the phone, Dex went over having heard her end of the conversation, took the phone from her and told her landlord that he was engaged to her. When the phone call finished he told her he was going to marry her. She thought he was joking but she didn't yet know just how serious Dex was about that statement.

When Dex was younger something happened which has scarred both him and Luca, that and his bad upbringing led him to drugs, his mother giving him his first taste at age 13! He's been in rehab and nearly died several times but until he faces the demons in his past and acknowledges that he's an addict then he will never be clean.

We first met Siobhan in book one, she's Harper's best friend but what we didn't know then is that she knew Dex but was fighting her attraction to him.

The story tells us their story from their first meeting, years ago, before Siobhan met Harper right up to the present day, we learn about Dex's history, his drug abuse, everything in fact that made him how he is. The story is told from two perspectives and in different timelines as they both remember their earlier encounters. The author did such a good job of moving the story backwards and forwards letting their story unfold at just the right time with so much emotion and so many surprises I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride

I was hooked from beginning to end and I know that I will listen to it again, as indeed I will with all the books in this series, It’s a beautifully written story it’s dark and gut-wrenching, but you never feel that either of them has given up hope of finding their happy ever after together, the love they share is undeniable and through their love comes healing.

The epilogue set us up for the next book and told us what had been bothering Gabe. But is there a happy resolution for him and Harper and what will happen about Luca?

I loved this one, I laughed and I cried, I think I'm in love with Dex!

The narration of this book, the whole series, in fact, is by one of my personal favourite narrators Thomas Locklear, he's super talented and has worked his wonderful magic yet again.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Crazy Rock Stars

Thus is Dex and Siobhan's story. He us the bassist for Fallen Legacy. Siobhan meets and befriends Dex not knowing he is a famous rock star. They have a dysfunctional relationship to say the least. She stands by him and his demons.

Thomas Locklear, narrator brings a hard edge vibe to the rock star characters. His ability to convincingly voice a female is surprising and believable. The story is good but the back and forth timeliness can be confusing at times.

It’s Always the Quiet Ones

Dex Cooper is the laid back bassist of Forgotten Legacy. He sees Siobhan one day, listens in on her phone conversation, and thus begins their rocky road of a relationship. Infrequent interactions are their base, until one day their universes overlap in a way that is unexpected for one and anticipated by the other.

I was engrossed while reading the book and experienced the same while listening to Thomas Locklear narrate. He brings so much character to all of the people in the story. He’s become one of my favorite narrators and I love the nuances of his talent.

Guarded Addiction has a great storyline and amazing characters.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧 Dex💘Siobhan🍒🥧🍒

I loved the first two books of this series and have been anxiously waiting for this third one to come to audio I am happy to say it was worth the wait. I have become a huge fan of L. Ann’s writing style, as well as Thomas Locklear’s narration, more on that to follow, first my thoughts on the story and what a story it is. It did not just grab my attention it mesmerized it and held it hostage for the entire book. Rockstar romance is one of my favorite tropes, which is one reason I love this series. The amazing characters and storylines L. Ann created are another reason. They are complex and there is a lot of depth to them. This third book is Dex Cooper and Siobhan Rawlings’ story, Dex is the band’s bassist and Siobhan is Harper’s friend and roommate. Dex and Siobhan have history together, but they kept it to themselves even after Harper reunited with Gabe. There was instant chemistry between Dex and Siobhan. It was like they could not get enough of each other, but Dex disappeared and had no contact with Siobhan for over a year. Then he reappears, acting like he belongs there, and she can only deny him for so long. L. Ann alternates timelines, giving glimpses of events in their lives that lead up to present, filling in all the blanks as their story goes on. And it is not all pretty, Dex has a lot of skeletons in his closet, some that are absolutely heartbreaking. I admired Siobhan for her strength and independence. She was great for and with Dex and she had his back regardless of him ghosting her and their tumultuous relationship. I loved how everything played out in this book; it is a brilliantly plotted story and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, some surprising twists, some mystery, thrilling suspense, lots of heartfelt emotions and steamy hot romance. L. Ann thank you for another brilliant story and emotional rollercoaster ride. It was great to see the others in the band again and I am looking forward “Exquisite Scars”.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, L. Ann cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Thomas Locklear rocks it as he covers to roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. His female voice is so convincing it sounds like a dual narration adds to the fact that he switches character roles effortlessly, never missing a beat. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays and owns the role, sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. Thomas Locklear is an entertaining storyteller, his talent takes an awesome story and enhances it to another level of awesomeness. Thank you for another exceptional listen. It is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

Love This World So Much

I love visiting Forgotten Legacy's world. It's never what you think it's going to be.

This is book 3 of the series but it does stand alone quite well. There are references/throw backs to what happened in the first 2 books but it's all crafted in a way that you will want to know more if you don't, but it won't draw away from the enjoyment of this specific story.

Dex Cooper is the band's bassist and resident recovering addict (he doesn't think he's an addict, but he's totally an addict). At the start of the story he's been off drugs for several months, but learning the why of his addiction and learning to heal the real way it where this ride takes us. He's flawed and manipulative, but it's all perfect in the end.

Siobhan Rawlins is best friends with the girlfriend of the band's lead singer and Dex has his eyes on her... but that is only what is on the surface. Peel back the layers and see the web of awesomeness that has been woven through the years. The journey for this pair has been much longer than anyone knows and when the full story is laid out for reader and characters alike will anyone survive the fallout?

The audiobook was beautifully performed by the extremely talented Thomas Locklear. His range of voices (including female POV!!!) are consistent throughout the whole story. It's like having a full cast audio play experience. You are just swept away by all the drama and emotions even when switching POVs between chapters. It's smooth and seamless and I love him for his talent at bringing books to life.
