Publisher's summary

Stephanie Costas has always had a passion for humanity. As a digital forensics examiner, she fights bad guys from the technical front. When a closed cold case is dug up, she finds herself becoming consumed to set things right. No amount of '80s music or repeated viewings of her favorite movie Dirty Dancing were enough to distract her. She needed a vacation in the worst of ways.

When she set foot in the gorgeous tropical resort in Greece, she had no idea she'd meet a man claiming to be Hades, god of the Underworld. And she certainly had no idea that he was telling the truth. Her Greek vacation was about to become very...interactive.

A Hades/Persephone reimagining.

The Contemporary Mythos series will feature a different Greek god in each book, reexploring their myths and combining contemporary romance tropes. Though they will all stand alone, the stories will also intersect for those that listen to them all.

Now how you present yourself, but who you really are

This was such a good story. The narrator did a great job voicing the characters, and I loved all the small details placed in the story. I really enjoyed the way that the author made a point to show that the characters true selves were the important part.

Fantastic contemporary Greek gods retelling!

I enjoyed this read! I got an arc of this book and now I'm going to go pick up the rest of the series because it was that interesting! I reccomend picking this up if you like retelling, Greek gods, supernatural, and romance.

Hades & Stephanie

I've been reading the series out of order. Each story can be read as standalone, but based on reading several other novels, I came into this story expecting to already like it.
The elements were all there — the slow burn romance. Plot strings neatly tied up at the end. The new interpretation of Greek mythology.
But… Stephanie didn't appeal to me like the other main characters. Her quirkiness and clumsiness were maybe a bit too quirky and clumsy? For me, she crossed the line between cute and annoying. And she works for the police, but has no problem becoming a creepy stalker?
I was expecting a slow burn, but the overall story pacing felt a bit off. I think I'm spoiled because I started at the end, when the author had already found the ideal pacing and characterizations for the stories. In this first book, I can see the framework for everything I like in the later stories.

Hot and Spicy with a twist

This book is very detailed and really enjoyed it. Because of the details I was able to imagine what the characters looked like. I like how the female character needed a vacation but wasn't expecting to see him.

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

Only One Spicy Chapter But Still Worth The Read!

I enjoyed how she captured the greek tale and put a positive spin on it. I enjoy how she incorporates Greek Mythology with today's culture. I enjoy that she does not try to turn Stephanie into Persephone and shows a different side of Hades. I enjoyed the side characters such as Zeus, Stephanies Best Friend and Colleague and the back story of the crime. What I enjoyed most is the part where every loose end is tied up and for once, the character is able to close out the chapter in her previous life, (quitting her job, telling us where her pets goes, etc) before just running off to be with the main love interest. What I didn't like that the book read like it was a spicy book but only had one spicy scene at the end of a chapter that had word play that was erotic but not full on smut. It's truly a slow burn romance with a hint (more like a sprinkle) of spice romance.

Great paranormal

I love paranormal but have a hard time finding books I really enjoy, but this exceeded my expectations. I received a code for an audio ARC copy, and I was truly hooked from the beginning. I was so curious as to what Carly's mind had created in this fictionous world I didn't want to stop listening to do life. Hades intrigued me and Stephanie's presence obviously rocked him. There was a little suspense but mostly an intriguing love story of mysteries with this modern day take on mythology. And Stella Bloom's narration helped bring it to life from the pages.

Cute and Silly...

This book is kinda like that saying about a dog being so ugly its cute. Some of the things the author made Hades do are so ridiculous (eyeroll) that they wound up being good-funny and adorable. Steph was an odd duck very interesting and that made the love match that much more believable. I giggled a lot and I am going to continue on in the series it sounds fun, plus I want to know what Zeus is up to and why.

Girl meets boy story, with a paranormal twist

This is a lovely girl meets boy story with a paranormal twist. The protagonist is a very sweet girls, who can see auras. So when she sees a scary looking dude while on vacation, she doesn’t see him as scary but hurt and depressed.
It’s a good, well written story for audiences 18+. I really liked it. It’s the type of story where you can just sit back, relax and disengage you brain for a while.
The narrator are good. Reads with a steady easy voice, and does a good performance. I borrowed the ebook version on KU and got the audio version for free. It’s whisper sync enabled, so it’s easy to switch between the two types. I am now leaving a voluntary review, since I likes the book.
