About this listen
A collection of short stories featuring witches, Hag's Breath reinvents this entity. If you are looking for the near-comical character that is the stalwart of children's fairy tales, then go elsewhere. These witches are the stuff of nightmares. True horror characters with dark souls and sinister intentions. Powerful women, whose presence in the world is sometimes to be feared, sometimes to be sought out—but always to be respected.

The world of Pravahs suffered from a time of darkness and genocide at their hands. These demon-instructed magi turned the skies black, led an army of the living dead and demons in a global conquest, and left miles of burned earth in their hellfire assaults. Their defeat was nothing short of miraculous. While the land remembers, people forget. Story
This book - which put Liverpool on the paranormal map - is about ghosts - whatever they are. Every culture has believed in ghosts at one time or another: Buddha trained himself to overcome fear by sitting in a haunted cemetery. Spooky tales are not just a contemporary phenomenon - there are several ghosts mentioned in the Old Testament. In the course of a person's lifetime, the chances of encountering a ghost are surprisingly high.

Kharon, the Boatman of Hell, has been doing his job since the dawn of time - and he is tired. As a demon, Kharon had always been feared by the souls as he ferried them to their afterlives. But, not anymore. The world has changed, and the mortal souls he now encounters are self-entitled jerks. Instead of cowering, and asking why they are in Hell, they argue, and they demand to see his manager or a lawyer. This human behavior alone has Kharon dreaming of retirement; leaving his boatman role to be carried on by his last living heir.

In the lands of Bethel, where the Prophet's word is law, Immanuelle Moore's very existence is blasphemy. Her mother's union with an outsider of a different race cast her once-proud family into disgrace, so Immanuelle does her best to worship the Father, follow Holy Protocol, and lead a life of submission, devotion, and absolute conformity, like all the other women in the settlement. But a mishap lures her into the forbidden Darkwood surrounding Bethel, where the first prophet once chased and killed four powerful witches.

Woo hoo, Witchy Woman
Like Don Henly sang, S P Oldham held me spellbound in the night, by penning tales of horror and fright. When the witches come pray for the dawning of morning light, you will struggle, but lose the fight.
Damn if he weren't right.
SP Oldham collects a coven of crones that will shrivel your feet or turn you into a toad. Be warned, Glinda is nowhere to be seen in this collection. In fact, the Wicked Witch of the West comes off as just plain silly in comparison to the bloody beldames in this book. Savor it. as a book like this only comes along once in a great while.
Paula Hines casts a deadly spell with her vocals and you will be impressed with her depth and range.
My only complaint? The book is just over four hours long. I needed MOAR malicious misanthropic mothers, sisters, and daughters of the dark magic.

Witchy Women
This is a great collection of tales featuring witches. This isn't your Disney/cartoon witches, but the real thing! Each story is filled with horrific acts, sometimes committed by witches, sometimes by humans who are afraid of them. The author has done a good job in giving the reader a few scary-filled hours of witchcraft!
The narrator did a great job and her performance really added a lot to these tales. My only complaint (other than the fact that this collection is too short!) is that I wish there had been a pause between the stories. There wasn't enough of a break to even realize that the story had changed in most instances.

Witchy Women Rule
It’s been forever since I checked out any books with witches as the primary characters. After listening to this beautiful beast, I will be seeking more witchy wickedness! Like your favorite band’s newest album, you won’t find a bad track anywhere in Sue’s collection. Each story is independent of the others and they all have their own unique feel. I’m so glad I gave this one a go and hope she continues to create wonderfully written tales like the ones found here. It goes without saying, but I will anyway. I highly recommend Hag’s Breath! I loved it!
