About this listen
Angel Daniels grew up hard, one step ahead of the law and always looking over his shoulder. A grifter's son, he'd learned every con and trick in the book but ached for a normal life. Once out on his own, Angel returns to Half Moon Bay where he once found...and then lost...love.
Now, Angel's life is a frantic mess of schedules and chaos. Between running his bakery and raising his troubled 11-year-old half-brother, Roman, Angel has a hectic but happy life. Then West Harris returns to Half Moon Bay and threatens to break Angel all over again by taking away the only home he and Roman ever had.
When they were young, Angel taught West how to love and laugh, but when Angel moved on, West locked his heart up and threw away the key. Older and hardened, West returns to Half Moon Bay and finds himself face-to-face with the man he'd lost. Now West is torn between killing Angel or holding him tight.
But rekindling their passionate relationship is jeopardized as someone wants one or both of them dead, and as the terrifying danger mounts, neither man knows if the menace will bring them together or forever tear them apart.

Jake Moore's world fits too tightly around him. Every penny he makes as a welder goes to care for his dying father, an abusive, controlling man who's the only family Jake has left. Because of a promise to his dead mother, Jake resists his desire for other men, but it leaves him consumed by darkness. A psychic without an anchor. A student in trouble. A shooter on the loose.I’m Jonathan Bane, a licensed psychic who consults for the police. I routinely help the police put the bad guys away and, for that reason, the criminal world doesn’t like me much. People like to take a swing at me, or go stabbity, or try for a gun. It makes for interesting times. My psychic ability prevents me from handling anything electronic—and I do mean ANYTHING, I fry it in seconds—so calling for help isn’t always a possibility.

Sometimes love is where you least expect it, and sometimes it's right where you left it in this witty, slow burn-to-steamy friends-to-lovers MM romance. Lovin' Zig! Greg is awesome!
Rhys did it again! She is the MASTER at giving us amazingly lovable men who are broken, but not beyond repair, and giving them someone to love. Plus a funny kid!
Just as with book one, there is the added element of danger and our heroes are under siege pretty much right from the start. (Rhys makes these guys EARN their reward!). Also like book one there’s a great kid, Roman, who keeps everyone on their toes but also breaks your heart at every turn.
Normally I’m not a big fan of “reunion” romances. I really love the first blush of a new romance. But these guys, since they’ve got history, are able to dive head first back into the thick of things – giving us their relationship building right from the start.
It was also great seeing Zig, Deacon and Lang again – Zig and Lang and West are HYSTERICAL together.
So… for fans of the author, the series, reunion romances, stories with kids, sweet and hot romances – pretty much anybody! – this is for you!
Audio
Greg Tremblay is so good. Just. So. Good. I know it was a bit disconcerting to switch narrators - and I don't know why that happened, but I do know that Greg is not "good enough" he is AWESOME! I love listening to his narrations and I was not disappointed one bit with the switch. Highly Recommended!

High quality sequel
No second book letdown here. Focus is on the first book MC's twin brother and his lost first love, Angel, who is definitely from the wrong side of the tracks. The narrator does a great job of voicing the several characters. This makes it much easier to track the dialogue of which there's a lot. The love story is very angsty, but the action plot is quite fast paced.

Another good book, narration
Where does Hanging the Stars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Consistently good story accompanied by great narration.
Who was your favorite character and why?
All the characters were engaging, but I have to admit to loving the interactions between West and Zig :)
Have you listened to any of Greg Tremblay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Greg is one my favourite narrators. The story has to be awful before I pass up a chance to listen to him (and even then, I might just...)
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!
Any additional comments?
I love the imagery Rhys Ford evokes when she describes a setting, emotion or location and Greg Tremblay is able to make you feel the descriptions as vividly as they are described. They are an awesome team!

Quality characters, excellent dialogue, and a litt
Hanging the Stars is a second chance romance with an underlying mystery driving the plot. The book starts fast with an intense action scene. It maintains that rapid pace throughout the book. This is the first book I’ve read in the Half Moon Bay Mystery series. There’s some overlap featuring the main characters from the first book, but there’s no issue with reading this title as a standalone.
The characters made this book for me. The primary and secondary characters are likable and good people, and the reader can’t help but hope they all find their happily ever after. West and Angel are from opposite sides of the track so to speak. The author plays up their opposing history well. The different viewpoints are clear and highlight their personalities and experiences, but presented playfully so it never feels angst-ridden. The dialogue, particularly the banter, flows well and helps create these vibrant characters. I think the characters and their interactions drive the plot even more than the romance and suspense surrounding the mysterious attacks and are certainly my favorite aspect of the story.
The action and mystery elements are executed well, though I wish there was a bit more suspense. I was never riddled with worry for the characters or experienced that nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach like I expect with mysteries. Nevertheless this is a fun story to unravel and see how all the components fit together. Though the pace is rapid throughout the book, there’s no lack of detail. The author creates vivid scenes with crisply described emotions that never left the reader in the dark.
Unfortunately the fast pace also applies to the relationship between Angel and West. With a second chance romance, I expect tension and reluctance. This one doesn’t feel realistic in that manner. There are moments over the past years the characters had the opportunity to reconnect and they didn’t, so when they quickly get back together and move toward a serious relationship, I was slightly disappointed. Although there was some hesitation, especially on Angel’s part, I wish there was more development in the relationship aspect of the storyline. Overall, Angel and West complement each other well and I like how committed they are to seeing their relationship work the second time around. I was thrilled there wasn’t the stereotypical break up/separation and things on that front stayed relatively drama free.
Greg Tremblay does a wonderful job narrating Hanging the Stars. With the banter playing such a key role in this book, having a narrator that brought the characters and scenes to life with a bright tone and intonation was essential. I liked his performance and will continue to look for audiobooks he narrates in the future.
I really enjoyed the second book in the Half Moon Bay Mystery series and now plan to not only watch for the third book, but go back and read about Deacon and Lang as well. The characters were lively and fun with a bright dialogue that often brought a smile to my face. This was the perfect lighter read/listen that also boasted intense moments and good characters, which grabbed my interest and keep me invested throughout the book.

Ford+Tremblay=Magic
Any additional comments?
So, I’m not going to lie to you – when I first read this high-octane paced story, I kept imagining how Spencer Goss would narrate it. I’d completely fallen head over heals for his narration of the Fish Stick Fridays and was eagerly awaiting Hanging the Stars to hear what he’d do. Alas, it wasn’t to be. Spencer Goss did not return for the sequel. Instead, Greg Tremblay stepped into the Half Moon Bay shoes and set about bringing West and Angel to life.
No worries, fans, because Tremblay, as usual, does a fantastic job. This was absolutely, thoroughly enjoyable!
I absolutely loved Tremblay’s character voices for everyone, but most of all for Angel and West.
If you’re looking for a sweet, low angst romance with some mystery, look elsewhere. This is a full on, lock your seatbelt, grab the oh-sh** bar, and hold on kind of mystery romance.
This story is like a shot of pure adrenaline. It’s fun and frantic read, with a super fast pace, and likable characters, including the introduction of Marzo and Justin.
I loved the way Tremblay’s able to convey the breakneck pacing of the story, without it being frenzied to listen to. I don’t mean he literally slowed it down, I mean they way he conveyed the action so that it flowed brilliantly without it being manic.
I love Greg Tremblay’s voice acting. And it’s a little bit of magic every time he takes one of Rhy’s stories and brings it to life. This is no exception.

ANGEL+WEST+ROMAN=FOREVER FAMILY!!!! LOVED!!!!
Where does Hanging the Stars rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was great...and book 1 was great too!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Angel....because he never gave up!
Have you listened to any of Greg Tremblay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have..Ilike him!!!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Oh yes...both!!!
Any additional comments?
First off, this was super great..both books in this series were awesome!!!! Angel and his little brother are just trying to make it...he owns a small bakery, and runs a second chance motel where people come to get on their feet...this was left to him by West and Langs grandma....West and Angel spent a sweet young summer of love together many years ago...and it ended badly....So when West drops back into Angels life, so many feelings try to push them together and apart...Angel had a rough childhood..his father was a con artist and beat him....using him for his own gain always..he abandons them and Angel now is raising his baby brother Roman...Things start to get dangerous...fires, shootings..and life is falling apart..The only thing falling together is this new little family...and they ultimately end up saving each other!!!
I have only read a few M/M romances..but I totally see there appeal now after these 2...and I am loving Rhys Ford...I need more of her writing!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! GREAT SERIES...AND I HOPE THERE IS ANOTHER BOOK IN THIS SERIES!!!

Danger at Every Turn
This story is full of so much danger and so much hardness. There is so much Angel and his brother Roman have been through. Angel is such a strong man and has done so much. Wes has shut himself off since the first meeting with Angel but when push comes to shove Wes shows his own strength.
