About this listen

Grad student Imogen Wilson realizes she's hit on the perfect thesis for her sociology degree. If she follows the so-called "rules" on how to get a man, can she steer her way into the world and hearts of stock-race-car drivers, and establish their dating - and mating - patterns?

Although sexy and reckless racer Ty McCordle is the ideal test subject, Imogen knows that for the sake of science, she can't give in to her growing attraction for him. Yet he's the one who's chasing after her, and Imogen realizes that she actually wants to be caught. A southern gentleman like Ty will satisfy all her curiosity - and make all the risks worthwhile....

4 1/2 Stars -- Steamy Perfection!

Any additional comments?

Another fun, sexy read from McCarthy! I loved these two together, and the chemistry was off the charts amazing. But they were also sweet and funny together, and I loved watching them fall in love. I'll definitely be back for more of this series, and McCarthy's writing in general. It's a bit addicting. :)

The narrator did a decent job, I'd probably rate her performance between 3 1/2 and 4 stars. At times, the tone of voice she'd give the heroine was beyond annoying, but as the story went on, either she dropped that annoying habit or I was able to overlook it for the sake of the story. I'd listen to this narrator again, but I wouldn't say she's a top favorite.

Book 2 of the series does not disappoint

Book 2 does not disappoint. The unlikely pair of"Imogene" as Ty so lovingly calls Imogen is sweet. The story continues to evolve and the supporting characters are so likeable.

This is an erotic romance book and series. I've seen some negative reviews of this series based mainly on the fact that this is an erotic romance series. I would suggest to everyone before buying a book, cross reference the book and series on other websites.

Sweet Love Story

This was a sweet love story of two opposites finding middle ground and falling unexpectedly in love. She is cultured and smart, while he is illiterate from dyslexia and a "good ole boy". This is a great "feel good" love story. What a delight. Glad I listened to the other reviews and picked up this one. Great Narrator.

Favorite of the series

At least so far...I have read the first three (just started the audio for the third one) but Ty and Imogen's story is my favorite. Emily Durante does a great job on the narration and the story is light, fun and very sexy.

Excellent

I enjoyed this book. Some of the love scenes are a bit exotic, the humor is wonderful. It's another one of those books that takes little concentration but rather, it takes you easily through with humor.

Light and Fluffy with No Tension

The publisher's summary is a little misleading. I took it to mean that the angst in the story would revolve around her research goals. Not so. Near the very end of the story there was some tension caused by his dyslexic secret. Mostly it's just a straight forward, unhindered, easy going romance about a boy who likes a girl and a girl who likes him right back. They don't really fight the attraction though there's some mild concern that they are two totally different people. It reminded me of riding the "Lazy River" at Wild Rivers Waterpark on a relaxing summer day. Nice and relaxing but utterly devoid of excitement. The narrator did a good job of giving each character a distinct voice, but I found her choice of accents for the heroine odd. The heroine was raised in New York, so the story goes, but the accent sounded more like a mild caricature of what people think Minnesotans sound like (I know, I know, they don't really have an accent -- it's just a bad rumor). Her O's were slightly rounded and she did that odd thing with the "--er" sounds at the end of words. I kept expecting her to say, "Don't ya know." In a nutshell, it was an average romance. I would have appreciated a little more action or tension. I won't buy another from this author, but I wouldn't discourage someone if they were looking for something light and fluffy.

Ok not great

Story is great! Narrator needs to give up the little girl laugh! Men and for that matter real women don't laugh that way. If she would have actually laughed rather than simpered .... As it was her "laugh"was really off putting.....

Not really worth the credit...

The series is basically a group of men and women having the hots for each other with little story line. If you want a good listen, I would recommend the series beginning with Dangerous Race by Dee J. Adams. These at least have some character development and good plots.
