the speech impediments make me crazy I don't know why she felt the need to give people speech impediments or everybody sounds like Eliza Doolittle nothing in between

terrible terrible voice acting

“Thick”? “Thick”?! Oh!!!! Ok. “Sick”.

I had to rewind just to understand Sadie and what she was trying to say!! Oh my goodness!! Why, oh why, would a narrator throw in a speech impediment that’s not part of the storyline?! Just for fun?!! And why was this allowed?!

The story was a good one, continuing the saga of the Harper Girls. I particularly liked the stories of Maggie and Marion. The scenes of nursing in a field hospital are vivid and easy to imagine!

But the narration was absolutely lacking. Sadie and Kathy spoke so slowly and in such monotone voices that I was immediately reminded of Kerry in the tv show In Country. (Only Kerry is funny!)

I’m only working my way through the series because I like the storylines but in all honesty I almost DNF due to the narration.

The Thought of Another Man Touching Her Made Her “Thick”

Narration of mens characters bad as well as expression of words that make characters sound very simple

Story good but narration lacking

This narrator was not good with accents and was difficult to understand at times. I wish the the narrator of earlier books had carried on with this one. I struggled through the horrible accents because the story was so good

Wonderful story, poor narrator

I have enjoyed this series so far; however, what happened with the narration? All the sudden everything changed and it made it more confusing to keep up with the characters and some of the voices were terrible.

Love the Series!

I love the series and all the characters but this narrator makes it SO hard to want to listen. Her voice for Sadie is terrible as is her take on Jenni’s American accent… why they didn’t engage the first narrator, I’ll never understand. I’ll suffer thru the next book because I want to know how the story goes but I’m excited the original narrator will be back for the last one.

Love the Harpers Girls, dislike the narrator

Loved the story, hate Sadie’s voice!! Don’t like the lisping. Not crazy about some of the others either

Voices

Don’t get me wrong, I have liked them all a lot but there was a quality to this one that was great. I really like all the women and their bond with one another, but my favorite character is Marco. Such a fantastic series! Can’t wait for the next.

The best book so far in the series

This is a very pleasant series. The characters are likeable and real. The narrator has skills but they do not involve voices. Her narratives are nicely done but a few of the voices are atrocious.

Great series
