The best book ever!

unexpected twists and turns throughout. And if you grew up with a parent who did not treat you well, you'll relate, but it is not at all depressing. it's fantastic!

Just the right amount of humor, love and disaster

This was really a fun listen. I was skeptical at first but Sammy won me over by chapter three. Lots of humor, romance, family drama and even a little suspense. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series.

Pretty cute

Fun story about hedgehogs, love and family drama. After getting used to narrator’s voice I liked it a lot!

A story that is heartfelt

This story hit close to home, for me. I was glad to see such a great ending. Her mom was and will always be a bitter woman.

A Happily Ever After Story

Loved the story and all the twists and turns.
The part I had difficulty with was the voice of the reader. She sounded more like a 60 year old than a 29 year old.

Good read!

This is a very touching realistic fiction that is well narrated. Many families will be able to relate to the events and emotions of the characters.

Read this book!

Loved the book! Great exploration into family dynamics and romantic dynamics. Enjoyed the story of Sam coming into her own finally at the age of 29. She's a caring person who stands strong at work but is a pushover with her family. She tries hard to feel accepted by her family because her mother does not love her and makes no attempt to hide it. She finds herself ostracized by her family over nothing. Saves from a fall and befriends a very grouchy senior citizen, Thomas; Thomas' fall leads her to making two new friends (because one was the EMT who responded to the call for Thomas); life conspires to putting Josh and Sam together repeatedly through a series of chance encounters. The flame/spark is immediate when given a chance.
So is the flame that almost takes Sam's life but does take the barn. Does it take any hedgehogs?

The story is full of all the emotion expected in life. Might want a tissue or two. Be prepared to laugh. But please do read the book.

Pretty good narration. Cannot tell you too much regarding it. Heavy accent used.

The acts of kindness

This book was so heartfelt and actually tugged at my heartstrings few times. I was saddened when Gramps and Thomas passed away. I was horrified at how her family treated her and the blatant disregard and disrespect was appalling. I was so glad when Josh came into the picture. The only thing I wished would’ve happened is her mother either coming around or getting what she deserved and that mean ole aunt too.
