Publisher's summary

Clean and wholesome historical western inspirational romance.

Harriet Kirk has spent a lifetime being overlooked. Though she adores her sister, Annalise, who is beautiful and urbane, confident and accomplished in every situation, Harriet is tired of always being compared unfavorably to her. Clever and quick, practical and sensible, Harriet has always felt like an ugly duckling, but it has never stopped her from wanting the happily ever after that her sister always seemed destined for. But an unusual twist in their fates has them taking their destiny into their own hands, but will it end in happiness for Harriet, or for Annalise?

Brandon Willis has never wanted for anything, but he has always been determined to serve his community. He loves his work, driving the stage coach across the state, and assisting his great friend, Sheriff John Kimball, as one of the town's deputy sheriffs. But he is starting to notice the loneliness that marks his days. But will he ever put himself first long enough to find a woman to love, or will his desire to help be his undoing?

Mousy Sister Loves Sister's Contracted Fiance

When Harriet's beautiful, vivacious sister is being forced into a unwelcome power match, the sisters flee to Faith Creek via a mail order match for Harriet's sister and a local, but Harriet soon finds she loves her sister's intended. Functions well as stand alone, but you will fall in love with the people of Faith Creek, the Texas town built by mail order love.

Sisters!

These two sisters will sure to bring a smile to your face from the beginning. Their complete opposite natures are so apparent, it will make you wonder why Harriet is so good to Annalise. Annalise is the socialite, being married off to a man she has no interest in. As a result, a letter to a man in Faith Creek to marry Annalise to is sent with the condition that Harriet goes along too. When the two meet Brandon, there is chemistry but is it with the right sister? I really enjoyed this one, the banter between the sisters is amusing, and the story is very entertaining. Gracey is able to take each of the couples in this series and give them their own personalities, each one completely different from the previous, but just as fun to listen to. With narration by Alan Taylor, you are sure to enjoy it!

Harriet's Destiny

Mail Order Bride-Harriet's Destiny (Faith Creek Brides #6)
Karla Gracey

Clean and wholesome historical western inspirational romance. Two sisters as opposite as night and day answer an ad for a mail order bride, after they are told by their father they are on their own if the younger won't marry an older man. Brandon Willis sends tickets for both sisters. Who will end up with the man?

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Alan Taylor.

Cute fun listen

A story of one sister who is willing to stand up to those that try to control their lives making a stand and saying NO when her uncle tries to marry her sister off. She is willing to give up the easy care free life to keep her sister happy. Harriet isn’t ugly by any means but compare to her sister she is no comparison. Her sister is everything most men would want. She is use to getting her way and isn’t a very nice person always putting herself first and her sister last which is the opposite of what Harriet is. To get her sister out of marrying a man old enough to be her father they answer a mail order bride ad.

Mr. Taylors narration was great his voice just sound like the wild west. It is very pleasant to listen to, with wonderful character voices giving them real emotions you get lost in. You never are in doubt just who is talking or what they are feeling. I found both his female and male voices to be a delight from the strong male to the soft female you could really feel the pain, sorrow, and happiness he gives them. I heard no background noise or any places where the volume changes. If any breaks where taken I could not tell. His voice is strong and clear giving you a delightful listen. His performance is outstanding from the emotion to his voices he really make the story come alive. He is a very talented narrator that pulls the listener in giving a very vivid listen that you can picture the scenes in your mind.

I really didn’t care for Harriet sister she is very demanding and only thinks about herself and what she wants not caring what her sister has to give up for her. She agrees to marry Brandon but on meeting him thinks he is a bore and hopes he finds someone else. Harriet would give anything to be married to Brandon but is not welling to hurt her sister. Brandon has his own thoughts on her sister and just what he wants. This is very short sweet read with no filler, it is interesting but moves a little fast as most short stories do.

Harriett's Destiny

I did enjoy this book. This book was predictable as the others were in the series. You pretty much know how it will end

Another sweet Faith Creek Story

I enjoyed listening to this story.I have liked all of the books in this series. The only complaint I have, and yes it's the same every time I listen or read quickies and novellas, is that it is too short. I would love to know more about the main characters. How and why things happened and how things went after the wedding. Did they have children? Were they happy? What happened to the sister? Ect...these short reads always leave me with questions. But they are nice when you don't have a lot of time to read or have a lot of time to sit and enjoy listening to a book. I liked the narrator he did a good job as well. I would recommend both to anyone who likes reading and or listening to mail order bride romances.
