Publisher's summary

The Seldons and Dales have been mortal enemies for centuries....

But that hasn't stopped the roguish Crispin, Viscount Dale, and the impetuous Lady Henrietta Seldon from waging their own battle...of the heart. Every stray glance, every chance encounter threatens to reveal the secret passion that keeps drawing them together.

But finally, after years of flirting with disaster...Crispin and Henrietta find themselves locked in a wine cellar, and now there is no denying the love and loyalties that have lured them in and torn them apart time and time again. Will this one last chance - this tempting night of desire - ignite a fire that will never be extinguished, no matter the price?

Not bad but short

Usually with E.B. books I either love or hate them. This one is the 1st to fall in between. more than avg but far from great. The FMCs was an idiot. Impulsive, yes but self-sabotaging as the ending "moral" suggests, I think not! She acted out of spite to damage him not herself. I liked the trip down memory lane, like how it was written. I like him, Crispin, and felt he could do better. He conducted himself admirably and isn’t it every woman's dream a man will carry a tondra for her even while separated. <swoon>
so with that contrast, but great narration I think the book warrants an overall 3.75.

I wish there had been an epilog so we knew what happened with them, given her track record with marriages. 😉

Nice and short

I enjoyed everything in this story. Love found, then lost, then found again. With this happening through the years. Until they finally have it out and and told their truths, clarified misunderstandings, and finally got their Happily Ever After.
