It is long past time for the publication of a well-researched, definitive biography of the infamous western outlaw Harvey Alexander Logan, better known by his alias, Kid Curry. In Wyoming he became involved in rustling and eventually graduated to bank and train robbing as a member - and soon leader - of the Wild Bunch. The core members of the gang came to be Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid, George "Flatnose" Currie, Elzy Lay, Ben "the Tall Texan" Kilpatrick, Will Carver, and Kid Curry.
Kid Curry has been portrayed as a cold-blooded killer, without any compassion or conscience, and possessed of limited intelligence. Curry indeed was a dangerous man with a violent temperament, which was aggravated by alcoholic drink. Mark Smokov has researched extensively in areas significant to Curry's story and corrects the many false statements that have been written about him in the past.
Curry was a cunning outlaw who planned and executed robberies on par with anything Butch Cassidy is reported to have pulled off. Smokov contends that Curry was the actual train robbing leader of the Wild Bunch - there is no concrete evidence that Cassidy ever robbed a train.

He Rode with Butch and Sundance: The Story of Harvey "Kid Curry" LoganWritten by: Mark T. Smokov

I requested this audible book and the review is voluntary. This book is one that has to be digested slowly and in bits. There is sooo much information that I can't keep all the info straight if read all at once. There is too many people, places, crimes, and other information to keep things straight. All of it is so interesting. It is so amazing what life was like back then. Reading this made me feel like I was back there, I felt dusty, tired, and griddy. I smelt horses, blood, and dirty cowhands. This has bank robbery, cattle rustlers, train robbers, forgery, and so many more crimes. The injuries the obtained and somehow lived was amazing too! How they didn't die of infection is pure luck because the hygiene didn't sound all that great at times. This book just didn't talk about Kid Curry but also those around the Kid and the Kid got around. This was a fascinating book but it really needs to be read in small bite size pieces. Slow and to digest slowly to enjoy it better! Lots of the myths I grew up to believe were dispelled. This also goes back and tells all about his childhood on up to his death and beyond. The narrator was great too. The many voices he had to do and was able to keep straight, fantastic! I encourage any history buff to check this book out.
Great history of Kid Curry and his friends
