Sophie has always preferred champagne and bonbons to village life. When her dearest friend Henri proposes and insists that life as a baker's wife will be enough, she admits her desire for more. Looking for an adventure, she stumbles upon a fortune teller who predicts her death and reveals the truth about her origins. Desperate for answers, Sophie flees the village.
In the middle of a mountain she meets Tristan, a Gem Tracker on the hunt for a precious stone that could save the country of Gemmes. Together they search for clues, and soon the pursuit becomes not just about the treasure but also about answers to life and love. It turns into a race against time as Sophie and Tristan learn they aren't the only ones looking for the last magical jewel.
What no one realizes is that the treasure they seek may be right in front of them. X marks the spot.

What did you love best about Heart of Stone?
Quite a sweet story. Almost like turning Lord of the Rings into a fairytale. Great characters who have personal journeys which are interesting and all add up to a great story. What was one of the most memorable moments of Heart of Stone?
I like the way that Sophie develops. She's hard to like to begin with but you see that everything is stacked against her and you begin to enjoy her journey into a better personal place. What does Dara Kramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Very good narration. I think that she opened up Sophie for me and there's a dreamlike quality to the narration that makes this a great fantasy book to listen to.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I'd rather not give anything away as this is a story that you should listen too or read. I think that the characters within it a good, the story itself is a brilliant journey that I really enjoyed.Any additional comments?

Sophie meets Tristan, a Gem Tracker. Tristan is on a quest to locate the legendary gems to save the country of Gemmes. There were several times that Tristan could have abandoned Sophie but he doesn't. Sophie is also selfish to give the gems that Henri gave her to Tristan. Tristan recognized the gems that Sophie gave him and has only one more gem to locate. With a cruel king looking for the gems, Sophie and Tristan is on the runs.
Sophie's coldness has gotten to me. She didn't care about anyone except herself. Even though she did felt something with Tristan, she couldn't really feel. As the story continues, readers/listeners will realize why Sophie is the way she is. The title of the story is indeed the right title for this story.
The narrator Dara Kramer did make the story tolerable to listen to. If I was reading the book, I would have stopped less than a fourth of the book. The character Sophie wasn't one of my favorite. Even at the end of the story, Sophie did do what is right but I didn't feel she made up with Henri and Tristan.
