About this listen

Most girls dream of being princesses, but one princess just wants to be a normal girl.

Ella Carina, crown princess of Aelawyn, knows brutality and lies - she's seen the way her father rules. Princess. Possession. To her father, the words had the same meaning. She was only as valuable as the alliance formed with her betrothal. Her freedom comes from an unlikely place: an attack on the castle.

When the conquering King offers to protect her from the betrothal her father arranged for political gain, she consents. Hiding her within a peasant family is the only way to keep her and her secret safe. In this simpler life, Ella flourishes and catches the eye of the local Blacksmith's son. For once, she can be herself and make her own choices, but the life of a princess - even one kept secret - was never meant to be easy.

Trevor, crown prince of Galder has been searching for Ella, but not because of their betrothal. She is in grave danger from the very people who hid her away. His plan is to show her the truth and help her to safety.

Nothing goes as planned. When Trevor finds her, it's to discover she's fallen in love with a peasant. Now he has two goals: help her regain her throne...and show her that she belongs with him.

so much fun

For a long time I was hesitant to read this book because of some of the reviews I read. However, it was so much fun. It was not what I expected. In the book, a princess who has a difficult life and loses her family. She ends up moving
to live on a farm as a peasant. She enjoys her new life even though her "stepsister" is unkind. Eventually she has to make difficult decisions that will affect everyone around her, including the man she is in love with. I will definitely reread this book and look for more by this author.

Good story-narrator fair

The story is a nicely hidden version of Cinderella. After a while, I got used to the over-pronunciation of every single word of the narrator. But, it took a while. If not for the storyline, she would’ve driven me a bit crazy.

Cute

I enjoyed the book, but skipped a few hours of drama at the end. when things seemed concluded with 3 hrs. I skipped 2 hrs and just listened to the last hour to see how the story played out. Overall I liked it.

I kept thinking when is going to get good. .. Idk. it's not what I expected .. I feel like all the choices were kinda disappointing. It's not bad. it's just not awesome like I thought it would be.

Who doesn’t love a Cinderella Story!

I loooved the characters. Just wanted to get that out up front. Asher and Ella were so great. I love a book with strong female characters and this one had many.. I only wish we this was a series so we could dive in Deeper to each one. This reverse take on A Cinderella like story captured my heart right from the beginning. A young princess, kept hidden away in her castle by her tyrant of a father, who looses everything in an instant, only to find the world she is thrust into is one she is so much happier in then she ever was. With new found freedom, she lives a quiet life as a farmers daughter. Oh, and of course their is an evil step sister.. I really enjoyed the narration of this audio book along with the storyline. Every moment had me enraptured and wanting more. Highly recommend.
