Publisher's summary

Hendrix Bateman is one of The Lucky Three, a trio of players who were not on the Titan’s team plane the night it crashed. Feeling as if he’s been given a second chance, Hendrix is determined to make the most out of his life, but that doesn’t mean he’s not suffering from scars that can’t be seen.

When I lost my Titan brothers in the crash, it was a mixed bag of emotions. I was devastated and grief stricken, but I was also grateful to be alive. Yeah, that might cause a little—okay, a lot of—guilt, but now I’m determined to live each day as if it’s my last.

A night out with friends puts me in the crosshairs of Stevie Kisner—the devastatingly beautiful bar owner with a sharp tongue and a fire in her eyes that lets me know she has zero tolerance for guys like me. I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge, so I’m not dissuaded by Stevie’s tough as nails attitude or her big biker dad who looks like he wants to kill me. Fueled by too many shots and the raucous urging of my teammates, I set out to show Stevie I’ve got game both on and off the ice.

While I shouldn’t be looking for anything more than a good time, I can’t help but be captivated by Stevie. She’s cool as hell and we burn hot together. But the more I get to know her, the more I can tell she’s holding something in reserve, and let’s just say I’ve got some trust issues after my last disastrous attempt at a relationship. Now I need to decide if I’m going to let my past dictate my future or if I am willing to put my heart on the line to find out if Stevie is exactly what I think she is—my everything.

Hendrix & Stevie!

This series keeps getting better and better! I love the rebuilding of the Titans, each book holding an emotional value to the loss of those that were on the plane. This one though, features Hendrix, one of the three surviving team members. He seems to be dealing with all the loss and playing well. In a relationship that is going no where though, he finally makes the break with his girlfriend. Same night, he sees her. Stevie, the owner of the bar he is at, and the game is on! Stevie is a biker chick, total opposite of Hendrix's usual girls, but there is just something about her. Will these two mesh? There is a lot going on with both of these characters, and I love it! Bennett never gives us a dull moment as the two work through their past, deal with a toxic parent and find their normal together. Hendrix is sweet and willing to do just about anything for Stevie. Stevie is great as she knows who she is, is not apologetic and is true to herself. As always, I love hanging out with the Wags, they always give that family feel, accepting the new significant other with open arms! It's a fabulous story and made my heart happy.

Tor Thom and CJ Bloom, with names like that I don't have to say anything! But I will. Thom is fantastic as Hendrix. This player has some baggage, and though he is warm and sweet, the emotions are there. Thom nails his performance bringing out all the feels as Hendrix. Stevie is a tough nut, independent and confident. Bloom brings out all her personality with her nuances creating the perfect character. This team is cast to perfection and made for a fabulous listen.

Never disappointed

Another great escape from my favorite author. Each story unique and full of angst. Thank you Sawyer. xoxo

Not Her Best

I like the author in general and have listened to a lot of her books. Honestly though this was not her best. Spoilers may apply- the male leads mean behavior at the end seems very forced by the author. It was as if she had to make him do something bad in order for him to be the one apologizing at the end. Stevie talked to the reporter knowing it was wrong. It would have been better if she just apologized, rather than brake character on Hendrix part.
