About this listen

He's known as Father Anton to his teammates - the brooding, sexy captain of the NHL's Chicago Blaze has a reputation for...not having a reputation. Just like his diet and sleep routines, celibacy is part of Anton Petrov's on-ice mojo. Or so they say. Anton stays mum on the subject. If the world thinks he chooses to abstain from sex, so be it. Better that than the truth getting out: There is a woman he burns for, but he can never have her. She's his teammate's wife, after all.

Mia Marceau is finally on her own. Now that she and her husband are living apart, she's finding the peace she was desperate for. She spends her days in classes and late nights bartending, making her own way in the world at last. After what she's been through, as long as her husband leaves her alone, she doesn't plan to rock the boat. He still has the power to hurt those dearest to her, and she can't demand a divorce with such a high cost.

A chance encounter with Mia has Anton hoping for a shot he never thought he'd get. And while she's drawn to the intense, serious hockey center, Mia's leery about playing with fire. That's all Anton has ever known for Mia, though - a living, burning desire that won't be denied - no matter the cost.

Contains mature themes.

Hockey Romance ❤️💍🏒💙

I like that Anton is so devoted to Mia, even when they aren’t together, or it doesn’t seem like it can happen. It’s easy to write books about playboys, it’s more to make them sensitive, caring men.

Both of them are examples of people who come back after hard times and loss. I like how Mia is a combination of strong and vulnerable. It’s easy to see how women can fall into a bad situation based on shame.

It’s a good ending, and the characters are some I’d want to see more of.

The narrators do a good job.

gay best friend

good book but the male charrector sounds more like the gay bestfriend than the sexy hot main charector. he has a nice voice and is an amazing charector but i had to fight to stay into it.

Motivational and heartwarming

Love the characters, especially Uncle Dicks. I am motivated by the story and felt the love between the two main characters.

Story good. Female Narration weak

I liked the story of love and hope. Sweet story that wanted more. Looking forward to seeing how the story expands and characters develop

great narrators

I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook of Anton, and it did not disappoint! The story is well written and I really think experiencing a narrated version really adds to the experience.

Anton, a gorgeous yet celibate hockey player, is pining after his team mate's wife, Mia. He bumps into her by accident at a bar she is working at, and the rollercoaster starts there. Spicy, sporty, witty, all the good things you want to experience in a book!

Dear Author

This story could have been a 5 star however you lost sight of the details. If you create a story line based on a black female and a Russian male then the narration needs to match.

Additionally one of the biggest issues for her was having children. You explained it near the end however you didn't resolve it. Give us an ending that shows her getting exactly what she thought she lost.

If you tweak those things this would be a great book.

great story

I like so many others pick up the story because it was an interracial romance which I really liked I would have liked it a little better if she wasn't mixed and she was just black. however is a really great story the only thing I didn't like was the author didn't handle the backstory really well like he's just in what he saw re fell in love love at first sight with his teammates wife it would have been better had she kind of shown us how he fell in love isn't just telling us but other than that it's a great story!!!!

Loved it!!

People are complaining about the male narrator but he puts so much emotion in his performance that it brings the character to life! The book is great and sweet. I’ll listen to it again!

good storyline but that lady VA was a no for me

I liked the story. there were definitely aspects that I would have changed, like adding a surprise pregnancy at the end, and idk why she didn't speak up for herself with the team wives/gf isn't the situation with the ex public knowledge so why did literally nobody including reporters know? and of course she was stubborn past a fault to annoying sometimes, but my main gripe was with the audio. I understand some authors like to use the same voice actors a lot. but sometimes, you have to look at your book and characters and decide if that will work. I see a few people who didn't care for the male and although he wasn't the greatest to me to voice the character and I couldn't un-hear the "gay best friend" someone said he sounded like, I could deal with it. but the female voice was another story. I really wish the author would have gotten a actual mixed or black VA to play the character. J Shani Michaels for instance. The VA used already threw me off with the mfc voice, but when she did voices for poc I couldn't stop laughing. it was horrible, especially the first time she voiced anita and the grandpa. honestly the only voices that didn't completely turn me off was Dre and Dix. this audiobook could have been way better with a bit more care to casting. you can't use the same brush for every stroke
