Publisher's summary

In the fourth installment of the Coach's Boys series, Detective Ed Winslow's stalker steps up the game - and everyone is a target now.

Her secret could change lives forever.

When Hannah Fletcher discovered that her whole life was a lie, she ran as far and as fast as she could - to a place she'd long forgotten about. And now that she's found a way to get close to the right people, can she keep her real identity a secret as she works to accomplish one very important goal?

He's spent his entire life on the outside looking in.

Jon Rambo lived by three simple rules: work hard, don't get involved in other people's problems, and never get too close to anyone. His job, and a small circle of friends, had always been more than enough for him. But when a woman he believes is up to no good needs help, he steps in to offer his assistance, even though it means deceiving everyone he knows.

Her Best Friend Jon

Her Best Friend Jon: The Coach's Boys Series, Book 4
: Kristy K. James

Book four in series features Jon and Hannah. A clean yet exciting continuation of the story. The stalker is still out there targeting Ed and now his friends as well. Hannah has a big secret she eventually shares with Jon. A blizzard, explosions, and other frightening events move the story along. A bit of romance adds to the overall plot. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Daniela Acitelli brings it all to life with her narration!!!

Pretense leads to Romance leads to Love...

I've enjoyed the Coach's Boys series in print for several years. It's a great series and one that I go back and re-read regularly. Imagine my excitement as they started coming out on audio! I have been waiting for each new release on audio of this series.

This particular story is one of my favorites. Face it, we all have favorite books that speak to us. I think I like this one so much because it starts out as an act. Jon's trying to help Hannah learn more about Ed so he comes up with the scheme to pretend they're dating so no one's suspicions are raised--especially since Ed has a stalker. As you can probably already tell, they get more than either of them bargained for. I love how the author deals with each progression in the relationship--a relationship that neither of them is looking for in the beginning.

For a romance novel, there's plenty of action in this one. Lots of excitement...kidnapping, bombing, being run off the road. Another interesting aspect of this book is the beginning setup of the plot in the next book. It's been very softly done and is a great leg-up for someone going into Code Red Christmas...which is the next book.

I have several favorite authors who have generated several of my favorite series. I have to say that the Coach's Boys series is one of the most heartwarming of the bunch. These people really care about one another and aren't afraid, in this jaded world, to tell each other what their feelings are. It's very refreshing.

You should give this book and this series a listen. You won't be disappointed.

Sweet contemporary

Would you listen to Her Best Friend Jon again? Why?

Yes. It was an engaging enough story.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kristy K. James? Why or why not?

Yes, infact I went back and read books 1-3 so I would have a better grasp on what was going on in this story.

What about Daniela Acitelli’s performance did you like?

She was great. Her voice was consistent and her words were clear.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sometimes a secret can bring you together.

Any additional comments?

This was a sweet story. It didn't have a lot of drama, and was focused mostly on relationships. I would recommend reading the previous books, as until I did I was a bit lost, but it wasn't entirely necessary to do. I would definitely continue this series, as an easy listen, despite some darker themes that ran through the story line. I received this audiobook from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.

Things Are Starting to Really Heat Up 🔥🔥

Well things are really starting to heat up in; "Her Best Friend Jon," 4th book of "A Coach's Boys Series" written by Kristy K. James. The first three books of the series were interesting, with the guys the Coach has known since he coached their Little League team has been finding love.

But, when Ms. James introduced the Stalker into the storyline, it's added MYSTERY and SUSPENSE along with ROMANCE, which got my blood flowing + my undivided attention.
The Coach's Stalker is playing a 'NO-HOLDS-BARRED' game and everyone is a target since they continue to help him.

Through everything that's already happening with the Coach, he will learn some unexpected news that's going to change the DYNAMICS of his life forever more.

Daniela Acitelli continues as the narrator here in Book 4. She doesn't miss a beat
with her OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE in Multi-Vocal character tones. Here's to you Daniela 👏👏

I'm excited to start Book 5, "Code Red Christmas." I feel we're getting closer to learning the identity of the Stalker. Also, Who's next to be poked by Cupid's arrow?

Marrying Your Best Friend

I got this book via audiobook boom. This was another great story. I read the first coaches boys books and enjoyed it. This is Jon and Hannah's story. Jon is the last of the boys to fall in love and he is also the one who needed it the most. ed was reunited with one of his daughters. The stalker is getting closer and closer and more vindictive. I wonder if ed's oldest daughter has something to do with the stalker. Oh well, I guess I will find out soon. The narrator was very good but the sound quality was not. I found that in several spots the narration kept repeating itself. But that only happened a couple of time and the story was not lost because of this glitch.

Jon and Hannah

Jon and Hannah have a friendship that evolves into love. There is a bit of intrigue that is happening in the story and it gives Jon a chance to show what a great guy he really is. I loved getting to know a bit more about Ed and see him gain a bit of happiness. The ending is pure sweetness.

Audiobook: good narration

The Coach's Boys, book 4

Any additional comments?

3.5 stars
Another really good addition to the series. Each installment in the series has been just as good as the one before. The whole series is entertaining, interesting and enjoyable. These stories are clean, sweet romance stories so if you have to have "steamy scenes" in your story this series may not be for you. If you are looking for something without "steamy scenes" this is a really good series with an ongoing mystery.

This story is about Jon and Hannah. They start out pretending to date and things evolve from there. Hannah has a secret which Jon learns and helps her keep until she's ready to reveal it.

The stalker is ramping up his attacks. He's quite busy in this book. He is now targeting all of Ed's friends and putting them in danger. We are getting closer to finding out who this mystery person is. I have my own suspicions but I could be wrong.

Daniela Acitelli does a good job with the narration. She has a pleasant voice. Clearly spoken. I have gotten used to her as being the voice of the series. There are a couple of times the narration did not flow smoothly or there was an awkward pause, but this did not take away from my overall enjoyment of the story. She is able to bring the characters and their emotions to life. Overall an enjoyable listen.
