About this listen
No matter how many times they try to cage us, remember . . . we always have the ability to let ourselves fly free.
Killian Lewis has grown up in the spotlight. At nineteen years old, he has finally had enough of this showbiz life. Much to the disappointment of his cold-hearted team, he decides to leave his celebrity life in London for the summer. Instead, he's going to hide out in Ohio with his father and a blended family that he barely knows.
His plan is to stay invisible. His plan is to figure out his future. His plan is to decide if the life of an actor is still worth living. But then he meets Hazel.
While stuck in the JFK airport during a layover, Killian walks up to this free-spirited girl and is abruptly thrown into her eccentric world. Not only does he feel this instant connection to her, but as time passes he realizes he knows her. He just can't remember how.
Hazel has secrets. These secrets have not only changed her life, but they'll change Killian's, too. The question is, will Killian figure them out in time . . . and if he does, what will he do when these secrets finally become unveiled?
Contains mature themes.

Story
When I was twelve, I met this boy. I knew my parents wouldn't approve of our friendship, so I spent two years sneaking over to his house, hoping at some point I'd have a say in how I lived my life. When I was fourteen, there was an accident. As much as I wanted to keep him a secret, as much as I needed to see him every day, we were forbidden to ever see each other again. Three years have passed, three years of watching myself waste away without him, sinking into a deep depression that I struggle to pull myself out of each morning.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Story
There once was a girl with fireflies in her eyes and music in her soul. Remember her... she's important. She's the reason I panic-bought the little brick house on Maple Street, the one I lived next door to for eight magical years. Now that I'm back digging up floorboards and lost journals, I can't stop thinking about the two people who grew up here. You see, that girl was my best friend, and this house was once hers. She also had a big brother who was my everything before circumstances turned us into nothing more than memories.

Story
For years, the town of Silver Bell, Arkansas has quietly mourned the hospital fire that claimed the lives of nine of its residents—the town doctor, a young expectant mother, and seven infants. So, when journalist Finn Hardwick is assigned the story as part of a national thirtieth anniversary memorial service, he arrives at the town ready to interview its residents, thinking they’ll be ready to share and eager to make headlines. He isn’t prepared for the resistance. Or for what appears to be a collective unwillingness to answer his questions.

Story
The night of my birthday looked as boring as the rest of my life. Sitting on my own, trying to avoid my insanely gorgeous but horribly mean flatmate, all while waiting for him to leave so I could have a party for one…if you know what I mean. But that was before I almost crashed on the way home, when a big top rolled into town. Before I locked eyes with the hottest guy I’d ever seen swinging a sledgehammer in the rain. Before I read the flyer promoting the once-in-a-lifetime circus. A circus that wasn’t the usual garish carnival…oh, no…this one was most definitely not for children.

Macon Davis. My best friend’s brother. My tormentor. My least favorite person. Pothead. Delinquent. A careless, directionless loser. That’s what I used to believe, but I didn’t really know him. And when I finally saw him, it was the best and worst thing to ever happen to me. We burned hot and fast. Passion. Anger. Love. Pain. We were reckless. Naive. We were doomed from the start. When I finally saw Macon Davis for who he was, we both went down in the flames.

Pine River was supposed to be a new start for me. And it was, especially attending school with my three overprotective cousins, who were the triplets at the top of the social hierarchy. Except they weren’t alone there, and the first day when I came to school, I saw him. Scout Raiden. Tall. Lean. Tattooed. Mesmerizing. He was a golden god with dark and piercing eyes—looking like he wanted to eat me up. The feeling was mutual, and that was a problem.

Her Name is Hazel: And It’s More Than Just a Name, It’s A Heartfelt Journey
So, Her Name Is Hazel… not gonna lie, I picked it up because—well, my name is Hazel, and I was like, “I need to see if this book’s gonna vibe with me!” But honestly, this book? It totally surpassed my expectations!
It’s one of those stories where it hits you right in the feels. Hazel is complex, relatable, and so real—she’s not perfect, but that’s what makes her story so special.
I laughed, I cried, and sometimes, I just stared at the page thinking about how well this story resonated with me. The relationships, the growth, the way Hazel evolves throughout—honestly, it’s a bit of a rollercoaster, but in the best way.
If you’re a fan of stories with depth, emotion, and a main character who will stick with you long after you finish the book, Her Name is Hazel should definitely be on your list. I’m so glad I read it—and I just might go back for a second read.
P.S. Shoutout to all the Hazels out there, you’ll love this!
