About this listen

An enchantress framed for a magical crime she didn't commit...

Viola gave up everything to master the art of enchantment. But now she’s been accused of a magical crime and sentenced to death by the fae court.

Brock is a bear shifter with a bad attitude and a broken heart. When Viola vanished from his life seven years ago, he swore he'd never love again. But the moment she breaks into his downtown bar searching for clues, he knows he can't just let her walk straight into danger.

Foul creatures are killing the fae one by one, and Viola has only one chance to stop them. She needs Brock's feral instincts to track down the truth and prove her innocence. But the closer they get, the more she's tempted by his fierce strength and wild nature. As time runs out, will they risk it all on a second chance?

This feel-good urban fantasy novel is packed with nonstop magic mayhem, snarky humor, fighting monsters and saving the world, with a sweet love story (PG-13) and a happy ending.

Perfect for fans of Heather G. Harris, K. M. Shea, Isa Medina, Annette Marie, Lindsay Buroker, R.J. Blain, and Kenley Davidson.

Unfinished and rushed!!!! ***Spoilers!!!***

At first I was really into the plot like "wooooow okay we're gonna go on this sick adventure with magic spells, battle, a little chaos, and some sweet romance". But did we get that? NO! It was inner monologue after monologue after fudging monologue! Which normally wouldn't bother me if it was helping the story or the plot along but these were mostly second-guessing ramblings of a woman who is kinda of a dick (which she admits and redeems herself later😑) and don't get me started on the stupidity that is her love interest. He's so stupid that he doesn't even have common sense. At least the bad guy was actually heinous 🤷🏿‍♀️. I wish there was some actual world building and layers to the characters. Like how was Viola's training in the Fae world, what was learning magic like? Her failures and successes. What were Brock's challenges in finding out that he was a Bear shifter? How did he react to finding out his brother was one too? How did Brock get a best friend that's a demon and how did they meet? How did this Demon friend basically die and get resurrected? Also, how did Brock's bar become a Safe Haven to all paranormals? I feel like these are the things we need to know as the reader to better understand the characters and the world they live in. Anyway, all this to say is that this book had so much promise. It felt rushed and there were too many holes in it. I would love to read this again when it's a little more fleshed out.
